RFCE++ Beta

I could use some more rainy days here, the sun is melting everything since october. Finally winter is coming, but here the winter is a joke, slightly cold (rarely lower then 60 °F [15 °C])

This is actually the first time this year apart from a few days in March (spring in the Netherlands) where it's above 15 degrees Celsius AND the sun in shining. Please, let me have this spare moment.

What is the title of Hermann von Salza's diplomusic? It sounds really cool :)

Sergey Prokofiev's "Teutonic camp" (Peregrinus expectavi) from "Alexander Nevsky" kantana

Do you have a List of all changes you made from RFC:E to RFC:E Plusplus?
Like for every civ, all the terrain changes etc.?
Because I do not see the galleys with setterls on them for the Venetians.
Is that intended or a bug?

Thats the thing. I do not see the change I am looking for.
When playing Venetia in RFC:E you get 3 galleys with 2 settlers. But in Plusplus you do not get any galley nor the working boat.

I can't open the mod, I downloaded it but when I enter via the shortcut it is the normal RFCE.

Unfortunately Morholt has not been around for quite a while, and the latest version is heavily bugged. So whether or not your problems are linked to those bugs (I'm not certain, perhaps there is something that you are doing wrong), it's not a good idea to start playing the (otherwise VERY good) mod right now.
All we can do is wait until Morholt returns to finish it, until someone picks the mod up to correct the bugs or for version 2.0 of RFCE to get going (since it will include most of the ideas of RFCE++, but on a bigger map).

PS : is there a way to display a message like this on the first page, so that people know that the mod is on hiatus and almost non-playable right now ?

Okay, got the PM (obviously ^^).
I added a BIG sentence to the first page, saying that the developement is pausing and that the current version is not really playable.
I'm not sure if closing the thread is a good idea. It will not prevent anyone from downloading it (...and I don't want to remove the link), and the people who want to ask about the problems would be left alone because the thread would be closed.
It would also be a problem for someone who wants to pick the mod up/provide a fix, because he'd have to ask me to reopen it (which is itself not a problem; but people often don't know who to ask, or are not aware that they can just ask).

I could still close the thread, but that would need some more arguments ;).

I wouldn't really call it unplayable. Yes, there are a LOT of bugs, but most of the civs work okay (except for the HRE nations).

My suggestion is to rename the thread to "Alpha" instead of "Beta" because this reflects the current state better.

Eventually RFCE v. 1 would merge with RFCE++ to form RFCE v.2. The most logical thing is to ask RFCE team to take over this until the author comes back. Why close the thread?

Huhh, close the thread??
Not a chance...
Who's idea was this?
Why would any of you guys ask for something like this in someone else's thread?
I don't want to sound rude, but only Morholt and the RFCE modders have the right for this in the RFCE subforum

The mod is even playable... it has many bugs, but playable
But more importantly - as I already said a couple times - I'm sure Morholt will be back sooner or later
In his last few PMs a couple months ago he seemed enthusiastic enough
He had some great ideas for the mod, and of course plans in creating RFCE 2.0 together

Yep, this is the case as far as i know it...

The active RFCE modders are currently Merijn and me
I don't really want to take up this one too
Work on RFCE 1.1, and the map work for RFCE 2.0 already takes up most of my modding time

The_J, could you change your lines in the OP:
Moderator Action: Attention: Development for this modmod is on hiatus, and the current version is not stable! If you encounter too many bugs, please play the latest RFCE, and keep an eye on the release of RFCE 2.0 (a merge of the original mod and the best features of ++ on a slightly bigger map)

I had to rename the folder from /Mods/RFCE++ to /Mods/RFCEuropePlusPlus and it worked.

Did the second :).

And I have ;).
Please don't overreact ;). It's the first thought someone had to prevent others from experiencing too many problems. It was maybe not the very best idea, but it was an idea, and I'm thankful for everybody who cares also about stuff which does not affect him/her directly (like in this case) :).
And it's also not so that we cannot talk here. If I closed it, and you had a better idea, I would have listened to you ;).

Oh, I didn't mean to react too hard, even if it seems that way I did
So you are right, probably the first part of my post sound too harsh, especially compared to my thoughts about this :)
