RFCM-LuKo

mod looks awesome, downloading now. hope you continue it

Hi Luko,

As previously said, this mod looks great. BUT...

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not make the same mistake others have made, and have Taoism instead of Confucianism! I have mentioned this hundreds of times, but please do NOT make that mistake, of removing Confucianism in favor of a local Chinese religion like Taoism

Wow, someone downloaded the mod :) I found a bug in posted version (which causes random units to appear at South Pole) so I'll post the new version today. If you play as an Ancient civ and find scripting annoying- let me know. I'm currently looking for a way to reduce scripts but still enable historical events (if you have any ideas I would be grateful).

@TheTurk: So Confucianism over Taoism? Taoism may be "local" but still the area and number of people following it is not that small. And Confucianism- being quite important, still makes a lot sense as additional UB (for China, and maybe as a reward for some quests). But I'm open-minded so post some links to post with your arguments and I'll consider everything.

Confucianism: pretty much a non-religion. Y'all just hatin on it.

Seeing Qin Shi Huang with Confucianism is kinda funny. He hated Confucians like no one else did.

Luko, I have argued extensively over this issue, on Leoreth's DoC and on RFCC. So for God's sake, please change it :cringe:

And no, more people practice Confucianism in China, Mongolia (marginally), Korea, Japan and Vietnam. So please change it, as its more relevant to this game, as it was more wide spread, while Taoism never spread out of certain small areas of China, and NEVER to the rest of East Asia. It would be like having Shintoism spread to China or Korea out of Japan :crazyeye:

I've studied East Asian religions, so yes I do know a thing or two about this topic :cooool:

Need any more proof?

Overall cool mod though! :hatsoff:

@corovanrobber
And every time I play a game of RFC, RFCC, DoC I always see a Christian Stalin, problem? ;)

Well, Stalin wanted to become a priest initially :mischief:

"Yeah, yeah, should be nice... except for a dragon!"
I didn't change religions yet- did I? I plan to get rid of Judaism and place Zoroastrianism instead but not yet. And after that I can take care of one of Chinese religions to include Greek mythology.

I've just get an idea how to increase pollution in cities (I still think that unhealthiness is not big enough problem to bother to counter it :P )- every stationed unit causes 1 unhealthiness. This way protecting units from plague by sending them to one city won't be as good as it used to be. What do you think?

BTW: I've added some buildings proposals at the beginning so every comment is welcome.

unless i miss what ringroads would do (behave like levee except for with roads and probably with commerce) by the time that comes in basically everywhere has roads making it seem a little overpowered.

As many building will be added every bonus will be nerfed by so many other already existing.

[EDIT]: For example I've already added a City Hall. It adds +5 gold and is avaible since Renaissance Era. Ringroads adds at most +20 commerce so it's theoretically 4 times better. But it's seldom situation to have a city surrounded by land tiles. What's more it's commerce instead of gold so to maximize the effect you need various buildings (+% of gold, science, maybe culture and espionage). Last but not least I want players to build as many cities as possible (that's why City Hall and Factory gives +X bonus instead of +%) so amount of land tiles per city should be even lower.
The idea for ringroads came from civ2's Superhighways- but there it wasn't +1 but +50% (which was even more powerful). And about comparsion to levee: hammers are much more powerful than commerce ("You can't stop an elephant with your library").

Evetually, I would like to get rid of "hammers" and make food as a global growth restriction (excluding siege situations) to make everything more real but I don't think it's currently possible or optimal. But what do you think?

LOL!

Wow that would be pretty fricken amazing LuKo if you could do that! :goodjob:

I only know of one other mod that has done that (or toyed around with that idea at least), and that would be the creator of Dunewars.

can we have a change log?
