I'm 20 and currently studying for a BA in classical music composition and film, though I'm going to drop out and get a sound engineering diploma instead (this academic tomfoolery is starting to annoy me muchly).

I first learned of the joys of Sid's games when a PC Format demo disc arrived at my doorstep with a SMAC demo on it. Played that demo to death... Anyway, now I'm playing vanilla Civ IV and steadily conquering Noble difficulty. Seriously want to get the expansions so I can play as the great Shaka... I may be a white African but he is still the closest thing to my countryman. :)

23. Finishing up on B.Sc (Hons.) in Accounting and Finance. Started with Civ III, been playing ever since :).

I'm 21 and a student, working toward a BS in Computer Science. I started with Civ I.

15. My current occupation is Freshmen, my current job is to bring my grades up in Spanish from low B to high B. I blame Civ :D

But I congratulate Civ for getting me interested in my History class, I actually learned a thing or two about history from the game's Civlopedia (of course except for the obvious mistakes, ie: The car was invented in America).

30, cook-cheff moving around, curently in Austria and soon to be in americas (again)

:p

18- currently working at taco bell but will be leaving for basic soon in the navy and then i'm play with missile guidance systems and the such.

started with a $18 copy of civ 3 vanillla. l loved it and now have civ 4 bts

I'm a 38 year old Police Officer in the city so nice they named it twice (as seen on TV :)). My job doesn't really make much use of my History degree, so civ fills the void.

I started playing with Civ II on my PS One, and jumped to Civ IV last year when I got sick of my friends' whining and finally joined the 20th century by getting a computer, or as I like to call it, The Google Machine.

Lot of talented and accomplished people here; I think I just gave myself a complex. :D

Although, the community does remind me a bit of a pirate ship.

39 last June. Electrical engineer and long time lurker. I've been playing since civ 2 but I don't have much time to play lately. I also have the dubious distinction of being Lemon Merchant's room-mate

Condolences and heartfelt expressions of sympathy currently being accepted. :)

You poor, poor, sorry bastard. Where can we send the flowers and the cards? :D

30, still moving towards my medical education. That place where you are stuck between diplom and license, work as two horses and are paid half the sallary of one.
Believe in English it is called residentship.

Glad to see another NYer on the boards, and one of New York's Finest!

Home of me, MadScientist, the Superbowl Champions, Katz' Delicatessen, Yankee Stadium (new and improved), and all the Americans who blew the bell curve back in their hometowns and retreated to an island off the coast. I think we're all pretty damn fine. :D

Just turned 29. From Chile, in Germany. Just turned a dad ;)

Started playing 97 with some friends in Chile. For some reason we spend the whole night editing the introduction of Civ1 into something funny.

Yeah I know, we were pretty lame......LOL

Saludos

26 year old nerd working as an editor in software company. My first civilization was civ 1 in '93, after that I was hooked. Civ1 -> Colonization -> Civ2 -> Civ3 (didn't like this one) -> civ4 BTS.

34, pastor of a Baptist church and an alternative education teacher (English, Social Studies)

Congrats!
You have to teach him/her to play Civ immediately! My four month old son already enjoys watching the screen while I'm playing Civ... good progress. Well, his mother thinks that's alarming! :D

21, doing a Masters in Social Research Methods and Statistics.

Actually, to be more accurate - I should be doing a MSc. Currently I'm procrastinating, all my work is hidden safely under a cushion so I don't have to think about it.

Judging by the degree titles, looks like quite a few brits on here.
