Argument from the dictionary...probably one of the most juvenile forms there is. As if every word on earth can be accurately reflected in 2-3 sentences.
Yes, the use of dictionaries is so juvenile... completely idiotic.Argument from the dictionary...probably one of the most juvenile forms there is.
You know, since this is a Reagan thread, I think the only relevant commie comment for this thread is this... most relevant part right at the end around 3:50.
Link to video.

It stands as a pretty good baseline until further, more elaborated definitions are agreed upon... and since that will never, ever happen in this forum when it comes to the word "socialism", as about 1,000,000 different posts in the threads here has demonstrated...
I guess I'll just be juvenile (and understood).

Bush bowed to Saud too...I was going to mention that part too Kochman, it's easily the best part of that video. I'm surprised i've never heard of that offer before, it just shows what kind of confidant leader the US had back in those days - today we have Obama bowing to Saudi kings..
Well, short of everyone getting the same text book...I'd suggest using a political science textbook instead, largely because of what was discussed immediately prior.
Yeah, because when I was in elementary school, everyone was like, "hey, it doesn't say that in my Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary!!!"Or it's just a tactic for distracting from a reasonable discussion of the terms of a debate, that elementary schoolers frequently employ...but hey, suit yourself.
If you want to stick your fingers in your ears that's your prerogative, but you've utterly failed to provide a convincing argument if you're relying on Webster.Yeah, because when I was in elementary school, everyone was like, "hey, it doesn't say that in my Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary!!!"
Dictionary use then stopped when I hit Junior High.
Good call.
I will suit myself... and retain the use of dictionary for quick, unified reference in day to day life.
