Scene Opens.
Exterior: Mr Teeny's home as the sound of gunfire and metal clanking on metal are overheard.
TEENY: Ah ha ha HAAAAA! Terrific! Battle, this is what i crave! Kong, we are WINNING! What sort of idiots send in warriors armed only with metal weapons against rifles?!?
DIDDY: Uhh, humans, sir?
TEENY: Hah! Too right, Kong, too right! What's the latest?
DIDDY: Well, we lost a couple primitive warriors, ones who were gaurding our backrank cities, but we've cleared the area of human chariots. Other than that, we've been counter-attacking at every oppurtunity, as you said. So far, we've kill many, many warriors, but there's still a sizeable force outside the gates of the city.
TEENY: My city, you mean, Kong. It's MR TEENY-ville, remember.
DIDDY: Yes, sir. We've also --
He is cut-off by the appearance of a breathless runner.
RUNNER: Announcing, his High Simianness, Mr Chimps!
In strides Mr Chimps, Cornelius, JoJo and other main characters i've forgotten to add.
TEENY: Mr Chimps! (He salutes) Have you come to see how we deal with humans in this part of our lands?
CHIMPS: Teeny! There's been terrible news! The humans . . . they've destroyed Chimpsopolis.
Diddy gasps; Teeny is forced to sit.
TEENY: They've . . . they've . . . what?!? How?
CHIMPS: The humans brought in vessels to the north, around Chimpsopolis, and landed to our west, just outside our iron mines. We never stood a chance. All of our troops had been sent south to deal with the human army here.
TEENY: Here?!? Are you kidding? We've got 4 battalions of infantrychimps! What do we need of your primitive warriors? Why send them --
CHIMPS: Enough! (Teeny falls silent, but looks rebellious.) I had done what I thought best. If your outpost here fell, then the whole of our kingdom would be done --
TEENY: And what now?! We've lost the library, we've lost--
CHIMPS: SILENCE! (Chimps bares his teeth this time) Don't you think I know what i've done?!? Don't you think the deaths of those chimps weigh on my soul? Chimps that trusted me . . . depended on me . . .
TEENY (more quiet now): But sir, the library. Are we . . . stuck here?
CORNELIUS: I don't think so. I don't think the humans could access it, just as we can't, so there's no danger of them being able to use the knowledge or technology. But we need to get back there . . . we need to re-establish the base . . .
The assembled chimps turn and look at Mr Chimps, who is staring wistfully out the window. Several look at each other nervously.
CORNELIUS (in a whisper): He's been like this since the fall of the city. What should we do?
TEENY: (to CHIMPS) Sir?
Mr Chimps continues to stare out the window.
CHIMPS (under his breath, barely audible): How . . . how . . . how . . .
The sad, sad save
