Fantastic! I'll give that a go when I have a chance to play again. Actually had the day off today and was planning some serious gaming but the forced update stopped that so instead I found myself spending the day on bug tracking, etc

I've been using Rule with Faith for a while now, and I consider it indispensable! I'm not going to be playing until it's working again... Not to put any pressure on you. I'm just saying how much I enjoy it.

Go with God!

Edit: and yes I joined this forum to post this unique post.

Unfortunately I can't really get it to work with RwF (posted on Suk's mod page on Steam but it has limits to no. of characters and can't upload logs). If I use RwF I get a lot of error messages in lua.log that mention GovernmentScreen.lua and I can't open the Government screen.

If I delete GovernmentScreen.lua and GovernmentScreen.xml from RwF I get the same error messaged only pointing to vanilla GovernmentScreen.lua this time. Then I'm able to open the Government screen but it has display problems, e.g. no Religious/Cultural policies shown.

Suk's screen is openable by pressing the i key on your keyboard, and is completely independent of the GovernmentScreen. I was able to use it fine last night; what I wasn't able to do was change governments, because the same popup utility is used for that and it's both harder to remove this time, and we've got no handy way to go around it...

I found that you can change governments if you remove the before mentioned files from RwF. The screen is buggy but it can be used (I believe).

Well ofc removing the modded screen will solve the issue. I guess Suk's panel does resolve the issue of Cultural and Religious slots being absent from the vanilla screen, but idk if there are any other consequences of removing Jiff's changes...

Well the funny thing is that if you remove RwF's files you still get error messages, just pointing to the vanilla files. I mentioned this to Suk on the steam thread but he was of the opinion that RwF needed to be fixed and JFD isn't really giving us much how for a quick solution.

I actually spent an hour or so yesterday trying to merge JFDs changes with the new files from the summer patch. Unfortunately I'm horrible with lua so all I got out of it was different error messages :mischief: Perhaps it will be easier when the new CQUI version comes out at some point (I'm guessing JFD based his file on theirs)...

Yea, the error you posted on Steam is the first instance of the popup issue. Switching to the new version of the PopupDialogue method thing (aka what Firaxis have used) should give you a different error - at least that's what I found before I decided to just comment it out.

When you were using the vanilla GovernmentScreen rather than RwF's, did the governments screen work fine? Did it have all of RwF's governments and slots? Bc if it does then a temporary solution would just be disable RwF GovernmentScreen and use Suk's panel for policies; I think the vanilla screen won't load the custom slots on the government selection though...

It didn't have Rwf policies but at least I was able to open it and (I guess) pick a government. It was pretty fast to test using the fire tuner but I'm not at home right now.

Temporary Solution:
This file has had all instances of confirmation popups removed. This means that you may change your government with it.
Issues:
You will not be notified if you will enter Anarchy from changing governments.
Iirc you only enter anarchy if you try to backtrack through governments anyway, and even when I've done that I've received no such anarchy :/
You will not be reminded that you have unsaved policy changes when you close the GovernmentScreen. This shouldn't matter, given that Suk's Policy Selection is REQUIRED to set your policies. The green button at the bottom doesn't work atm and it isn't important enough to look into why. If you're using a pirated copy of VI that can't access workshop then sucks to be you huh. Remember that to open Suk's screen you press the "i" key on your keyboard, rather than the Government Overview button on the LaunchScreen or w/e that panel in the top left's called.

If you find any more issues say; post logs too.

[EDIT] And no I've got no idea what the steam folder for RwF is called, but from there it's Lua/UI/Overrides

[EDIT2] Fixed issue to do with Legacy Bonuses.

I'm still running spring patch, is this mod compatible with CQUI? it looks really good!

You have to disable CQUI's GovernmentScreen.lua and GovernmentScreen.xml files; either delete them or rename them.

yeah I'm holding off updating until all my mods get updated, it might take a while :D
Tried doing the same but I was to slow and once steam found the update it wouldn't let me play without updating first - stupid! Thats the exact reason why I always update my mods manually.

What Galvatron said. Fantastic mod! RwF is the best out there right now IMHO because it addresses one of the biggest holes in the current game - what to do with GPPs after you found a religion. Sadly, the temporary fix from Chrisy15, while restoring the ability to change governments, doesn't seem to get the GPPs going towards Great Theologians again. Sigh... I probably needed a break from Civ6 anyway. Guess I'll read a book. Looking forward to your return to Civ6 JFD, though I can only imagine the frustration of dealing with this patch nonsense.

Prophet Points contributing towards Theologians was working fine for me yesterday; I got a theologian, after all...

And, well, if this is a bug report then post logs so we can try work out if there's a conflict or something that's stopping them from contributing. Is the Theologian showing up on the screen at all? Have you got a Great Prophet/are all the Prophets gone?

Sorry Chrisy15, I'm a bit of a newbie. Happy to post logs if you can point me to an explainer on how to do that. That being said, yes, I do get great Theologians with the workaround, but on the great person screen it shows "0" GPPs actually going to earning one. My understanding is that points toward GTs come both from GPPs (specialists working Holy District) as well as doing things like completing districts. I think only the latter are being counted in my game. I was having the same problem using RwF and CQUI at the same time, and I learned from this message board that they were incompatible. Wish I had the scripting skills to be more helpful, but I really appreciate your efforts to try to get this working again.
