I'm afraid I'm going to reluctantly agree with the fascist admirer here : no, nobody think "equally" about all conflicts. Humans tends to relate more to those who they are close to.
I agree on treating all conflicts the same way morally speaking, but I'm certainly not thinking as much about a conflict on the other side of the planet between guys who I have no culture nor historical ties to, and a conflict on my geopolotical doorstep between powers that are having an everyday influence in my life and to which there has been a lot of cultural and historical past.
And I don't expect someone in Madagascar to give a lot of fig to what is happening in Ukraine right now, save for how the political fallout that will blanket the planet.

Apropos of nothing, I do not hold that rotating tires is maintenance and do not get the american obsession with it. Tire management is to wait until one is down to the fabric, replace that with a new one, put the worst remaining as the spare, the next worst 2 on the front and the best remaining and the new one on the back. If you have lots of roundabouts to deal with put the best of each pair on the outside. Why you would want any other arrangement is beyond me.

as an American there is nothing wrong in your good feelings about your country and its practices . Meanwhile going through the echo chamber ı follow for news , ı see references that the imbd or whatever about the movie stuff have been removing Russian movies out . My country isn't the one restricting it's citizens' access to social media to try and hide the truth, or prevent it from being teased apart. My country isn't proposing laws to make it a crime to "lie" about the special operation. Not sure you quite understand what an echo chamber is, but the bottom line?

This operation is embarrassing for Russia in literally every possible way. I think there's a very good chance that if Ukraine decides they're willing to keep fighting, Russia is going to lose this war.

With that said, I'm quite surprised Ukraine hasn't surrendered given the destruction. I frankly thought the modern day human would be far softer than they've proven to be. I dont know how long they're willing to hang in there, but it does seem pretty clear that if they do, Russia has a huge problem on their hands.

Because ı was dumbfounded about the movie . If Russian they would kill them all before they could surrender , like American verdions of stuff . I don't think anyone in this thread wants there to be animosity but unfortunately Putin had something else to say about that.

Anyway, the Soviet brutality on the eastern front, especially during their rampage to Berlin, is well documented... But I am not a person who disagrees with the Allied combined bomber offensive so who am I to judge it. I said much earlier in the thread and meant it - I respect what Russia did for the world in the Second World War. I do not respect what they are doing now.

I know Ukraine was mining the waters off of Odessa and it's quite possible that is what this ship hit, but I'll just point out that every incident like this and the aircraft/helicopter that went down in Romania is another potential catalyst for something greater.
