Saddam Hussein Hanged

Our actions are what define us.

I agree with you that perpretrating capital execution as an action can define a human as barbaric or any other thing as long as it lives (try "democracy defender" instead of "barbaric" if you prefere), but not as a human to be killed. Yes, Actions define the living, but not the dead.

Isn't he the head of Badass Anti-American State of Afghanisatan?

I do not agree that capital punishment is barbaric. To the contrary, in certain circumstances I believe, as Kant did, that it is required of us.

I think his list was referring to heads of state.

George Galloway isn't a head of state. He's a politician, but not a president nor prime minister.

EDIT: And he included Nelson Mandela! rmsharpe is the only user of this forum who is actually proApartheid, as far as I know. Other than being an enemy of Apartheid, what did Nelson Mandela do to deserve your hatred, rmsharpe?

no that would be our DNA.

if you enjoy seeing some other human being killed (even a bad one) what does it say about you?

me i think i know why i didnt like watching it, to me it was like beating the dead horse. he was a broken man, his sons dead, his power taken away.

and he didnt even chicken out or cry or anything, he took it like a man. if he had, then it wouldve been easier to watch him die.

i think if they had thrown him in a cage with some psychotic pitbull and armed him with a sword or something, or if he had a slight chance of surviving somehow, it wouldve been easier, maybe even fun to watch.

@Sharpe: Is that the British MP Galloway on that list? You are ridiculous man.

You just want to whack everyone don't you? Perhaps we should add you to the list. With your personality, I am more convinced that born in another time and place, you could easily have been an evil dictator, or at least a henchman.

"We must kill just a few more people... for the good of the nation. If our nation is to survive we must ruthlessly search out and destroy its enemies!"

Really? So if I say of someone, "He is a mensch", I am referring to his chromosomes rather than his conduct?

It says that I have a fine moral code.

You might like watching the version I put on Youtube called "Yakety Saddam", then!

It looks like you really admire that dictator's bravery.

You should definitely check out Yakety Saddam, then!

If you enjoy seeing humans being killed, but don't actually kill anyone, then there isn't anything wrong with you. I mean, plenty of people laugh at other people's misfortune. And then there are the Darwin awards, which are almost unanimously agreed as being funny. Yet they are all about pain and death.

These things are sickening to normal (read civilized or educated) human beings. If you like to see how other people die or suffer, chances are, something is psychologicaly wrong with you.

Oh ok. So I am messed up by watching America's Funniest Home videos, where kids routinely try to grind on a rail with their skateboard, only to fall right where it hurts.

I think though that you may be right about the death aspect. Enjoying watching people die is probably too far (then again, as long as you don't impede the rights of others, you are doing nothing wrong). I will agree with you on that. Not minding it though is fine... at least, not being disturbed by it. Example, I watched Saddam's execution without feeling sick, guilty, etc., etc. I hope that clarifies a little.
