A block of flats in Bow in the East End of London received leaflets through their door yesterday telling them that the army will be installing missiles on the roof of their home.

Whilst I can see the need for SAMs to help prevent a terrorist attack on the Olympics should people be forced to have them positioned on the roof of their home? I think not.
They are arguing that this is the highest building in the area but if they wished they could have built a temporary structure on which to position the missile battery on top of.
On the east side of the A12 (the flats are on the west side) is a concrete batching plant, which was used to supply the Olympics, where a temporary structure could have been erected.
What do you think.

London Olympics 2012: MoD rooftop missile base plan alarms local residents
Brian Whelan, who lives in a block of flats in east London on top of which the MoD plan to station high velocity missiles for the duration of the Olympics, says he cannot imagine a situation where they can be safely deployed in Tower Hamlets.
