Tlatoani Cuitlizotl regrets that he possesses no ship capable of crossing the endless seas to reach the Empire of the Great Ming, and thus trade must simply continue as it has in the past. However, fear not, our cities have no intention of reneging on their agreements, and our coasts shall remain open to you, O Glorious God-Emperor of the Ming.
We were unaware of the arrival of more of these Europeans. If it is your desire to prevent their arrival, the Mexica people will fight them as they come. However, if they are at all like these Spanish, who arrived just off our shores some time ago, we will struggle greatly to fight them with only the forces which we have- we must have assistance from your mighty soldiers, or be given and instructed in the use of your terrible and potent firearms.
Humbly,
Tlatoani Cuitlizotl, Speaker of Tenochtitlan
