Single Player bugs and crashes - After the 24th of February 2014

What does "the delayed resolution" mean? Can it be fixed? Now error messages can make it really hard to find errors in xml..
The files that caused the error are CIV4TraitInfos.xml and ls612_CIV4TraitInfos.xml.
Monastery of all modular religions are used in TRAIT_SPIRITUAL and TRAIT_ANTI_CLERICAL.

Modules of C2C are not really modular, aren't they? :sigh:

They should be, well most of them should be. Any folder starting Custom_ should be as should the Alt_Timelines and my folders. The others maybe not so much because there are many people working on the mod so they work in their own folder until we merge stuff into core.

There may be a way to save your game that was mentioned in the AND bug thread... This would probably have a better chance of working on games that still had the options removed but it might still work here I don't know.
I have deleted the cache and the .ini and it worked, thank you.

Is there anything I can do to repair the ATTACHABLE_CHIMNEYSMOKE problem? I tried loading earlier saves, and they managed to load, but once I get to a certain turn, the game inevitably hangs due to the ATTACHABLE_CHIMNEYSMOKE error. It's not even a crash, so there is no minidump, it just hangs. The only alternative I see now is restarting the game from scratch, but given that I'm deep in Industrial era and that the bug WILL resurface anyway, there is no point.

It is a game breaking bug, after all, so I hope it will be fixed. I just find myself trying each new SVN since 7466 that broke the game for me, with no good result whatsoever.

Ok try this:
find CIV4AttachableInfos.xml in BTS directory
find this code:

Code:
Art/Effects/chimney_smoke/fx_chimneysmoke_04.nif

and change for this:

Code:
Art/Interface/Attachables/AttachableSmoke.nif

Its crude but may help.

Before this changes make backup copy of CIV4AttachableInfos.xml file.

Sorry i dont like Gandhi, RL one is better.

No problem, I didn't like it either. Will redo him.

What do you think of this version?

Dropbox

btw.
-Henry the navigator is both in Static/Leaders and in custom leaderheads folder.
-Hirohito has a button dds file in Static/Leaders but his leaderhead and real button is in custom leaderheads folder.
-Jivajo is not in the game; has leaderhead graphic in Static/Leaders.

I am happy to report success.

Although the code
Code:
Art/Effects/chimney_smoke/fx_chimneysmoke_04.nif
wasn't present in CIV4AttachableInfos.xml, there was a code for the attached smoke:

Code:
AttachableInfo>
 <Type>ATTACHABLE_SMOKE</Type>

ATTACHABLE_SMOKE

 <fScale>1.0</fScale>
 Art/Interface/Attachables/AttachableSmoke.nif
 </AttachableInfo>

So, I partially copied this code into a new 'Type' ATTACHABLE_CHIMNEYSMOKE:

Code:
<AttachableInfo>
 <Type>ATTACHABLE_CHIMNEYSMOKE</Type>

ATTACHABLE_CHIMNEYSMOKE

 <fScale>1.0</fScale>
 Art/Interface/Attachables/AttachableSmoke.nif
 </AttachableInfo>

It works like a charm now. Thanks for the direction.

@SO:
You made a blunder; "Henry the Navigator" doesn't have a LH now.

Put this in "Modules\custom leaderheads\Henry the Navigator".

♦
Edit:
I'm a bit troubled with button border/transparency; Could I get some feedback on this experiment?

I've decided to keep the transparent corners but should I just drop the border, it looks good in foreign advisor but take up much space in the smaller stretched version like in civopedia. The borders has to be big to show properly all places.

:lol: No actually i just forgot to do a "add" to the SVN, i had them there already, DUH!!:blush:

OK problem here:

I try to take a screenie of the Ambusher (pic 1) but i only want the str that it has so i press CTRL and it gives a "stupid" amount of numbers there, that i have no idea what it is??? But when i press CTRL to take a screenie, it comes up with a HIGH RES pic with a tga file name, so i open it in GIMP and no writing on the screenie at all???

Is the CTRL wrong here or is the dll controlling this?? I believe it is.

So what i am saying is i CAN'T take a pic and inform anyone what is wrong, since this is NOT working correctly?? So sending the savedgame and you can do a CTRL on the Ambusher:crazyeye:

Is this something NEW again?? I like pop-ups that have alot of things to do with the mod that make for BIG consequences.
You've got a snapshot of the bugged version of that popup but it's been fixed since yesterday. If you want more info it's here. (Try reading the forum once in a while huh? ;) lol)

I'll take a look... the CTRL does open up another page of info on the unit.

So the CTRL button opens up the combat modifiers and combat special abilities of the unit. What numbers are confusing you?

I cant read the forums more than a para sorry, ADHA, after than it just makes my brain hurt. sorry. I have already said that before.

there are a bunch of numbers there where it should be str etc etc, but for certain units its just plain haywire, like the Ambusher and Rifleman etc etc.

Well... I'm not sure what you mean by haywire...

If you have chipotle enabled you'll see some odd numbers on the plot hover over a unit like an ambusher(when holding down ctrl). Those are unit id #s, AI ID #s etc...

If you CTRL-Hover over a unit icon or the unit picture in the unit help box in the lower left you'll see all their combat modifiers. On an Ambusher there are a lot of them and to make them all show up some of them don't take their own independent line but rather operate after a comma instead of a hard return.

Otherwise? I'm not sure what haywire YOU'RE seeing but I'm not seeing it in your game on this end unless it's something I see as normal that you don't.

PS: I have an official diagnosis of ADHD as well... you can't let it control you like that. If it challenges you it's all the MORE important you do whatever it makes uncomfortable as often as you can so you can strengthen the mind against the weakness. Something I've learned in living with it. (Edit: Also one trick I've used to overcome that problem you say you have (which I do to an extent as well) is highlight what you've just read. It helps you to find your way back to where you're at. The problem, if I'm not mistaken, is that what you're reading sparks too many thoughts and you derail down one of those thought trains too easily to keep track of what you're reading once you've derailed right? So if you're highlighting as you go you may find you tend to stop when you get mentally distracted and once that distraction plays out you can return to where you lost focus.)

Aborigines and Congo miss ART_DEF_UNIT_AFRICAN_SETTLER_BOY.
Maybe there are other civs, but i can only report the two above.
