Newer game, CTD on next turn . . .

: i got Expression: m_DebugCount >= 0 && m_DebugCount < = 1

that was before the game started, then when i clicked on EOT, i got these 2 messages, and poof CTD (see attached pics)

The debug count assert is not quite properly setup to work right if you do a recalc - generally it's meaningless/harmless since it's just a remnant of a tracking solution that I haven't removed yet. Also haven't done everything I need to do to keep it from coming up when it shouldn't. So this is one of the asserts that can safely be 'ignored in all future cases' when it comes up. Doesn't sound like it has anything to do with the ctd.

The other two though sound a little nasty. I'll sort that out right now.
 
Same happen to me too. fresh install new game and it CTD crashes everytime.. i make next move. I even went back quite a few saves and i worked my way back up to where i was around and then i get CTD again. i tried your save too it does it here too

Do you happen to have a slightly earlier save?

I think I've identified how the unit(s) got into the problem they are in (which is a disagreement in two differing data storage mechanisms as to where the unit actually is - a very odd problem that may have been introduced in a debug effort a while back) and I'd like to compare this save's behavior to a save from a round or two before it if possible.

This one's a really really odd situation tbh.

Efforts to fix and then create a repair in the gamestate have failed on the second account so cannot confirm that it's helped on the first. This is really frustrating.

Thank you! This may be able to provide a sort of solution. sort of.\

Edit: At this point I'm stepping back one turn at a time to see when the problem really began to manifest. I actually think this may be the problem you were having with the other game and I may have misdiagnosed it due to the symptoms being similar. I'm hoping I can step back far enough to find a round where the unit isn't in a bad gamestate to ensure that the change that I think should keep it from happening will be enough.

EDIT: The oldest one you have still shows the issue. Sigh... This is going to take more work than I have time left to solve.

EDIT: I believe I've sorted out the issue but it'll take a bit more work to ensure that the diagnosis is correct and that the fix is correct and then a little work to create an ability to heal an infected game. I have strong theories now regarding how to achieve it all so there may yet be hope for not only this last game we've been trying to repair but for the larger game I was working on for you earlier. Crossing my fingers - but it'll have to wait 'til tonight to get the project complete.

I assume the other reported crash from civsmitty is the same case until I've completed this one and tested the other.

Do you need me to go back and test all of the SVN's ? If so what am i looking for to see when it starts?
 
No... I don't think that strategy would help at this time.

Well i went back to 9007 and at least the Egypt game proceeds to next turn, now lets see how far i can get past this then . .

EDIT: Well at least 2 turns then CTD, lol:( proceeding to 9006 (nope) trying 9003 (nope) trying 9001

i went back all the way to 14 Dec and i still get a crash . .

One thing i am getting and when reverting back, i keep getting a RED warning sign on the Bison_Rider

After upgrade from some mid-December version to something more recent (Jan. 11) I noticed a strange thing. All existing City Guards turned out to be extremely weak: Str. 3.33 -> Str. 0.01, max HP 1 (I play with Size Matters, Seek&Hide and so on). I think I need to disband and rebuild them now because Crime raised dramatically, but it was enough to build 1-2 newely built City Guards (they are very expensive now!) to make it to drop from 200+ increasing about 7/turn to about 140 (and still decreasing).

I think the drop in strength was caused by the svn change where the crime units moved to new techs, and the game not dealing right with units you own but have not researched yet. I had the same issue with a game in the industrial age where the same thing happened when i got the cvs commit with the new law techs.
I kept the sheriffs that got there strength reduced and once upgraded the upgraded units had the strength they should have.

Yeah nothing works, went waaaaaaaay back / :sad:

EDIT: OK i did all that in the post above, but now i re-did the SVN and it comes up with the error on the bison rider, but the savedgame works(w/o the B_R), let me see how far it goes???????? Well that didnt go to far either, lasted like 5 turns then CTD . .

Did you delete the Bison Rider, because its NOT showing up in the SVN at all??

When T-brd posted that he had a property control issue I had a game in Class Era. I reverted back to 8998 and went back to a save from that build. I was able to play on. I am Not using any Combat Mod Options nor Rev.

After T-brd posted a fix for the Property Controls I updated to 9009 and played all last night on that game. No Problems.

This morning I started a New Game, again No CombatMod stuff. I have played 80+ turns with again No Problem.

Therefore the problem seems to be with your set up and Not with the SVN.

And I got no assert over Bison Rider either. But I have yet to Update to SVN 9012. When I do I'll post back here if Any problem shows up.

Yeah i play with alot of stuff, but i dont play with Rev any longer, just dont like it going into a Rev every other turn later in games. .

But as far as ON MY END, cant be, because i dont change anything in the mod at all . .

EDIT: Yeah didnt matter i UNchecked all of the Combat stuff, and i still get a CTD, so playing with the Combat Mod and Hide and seek doesnt matter. . .
 
When I did the review the Bison Rider folder was moved to a different folder. From MegaFauna to MegaFauna_Units. The MLF files changed as well to keep things working.

Understand that, but i keep getting that in the pic above, even after a fresh SVN?

EDIT: I had to manually go into the SVN in the repository and delete it, now its all green . .
 
The picture above is looking at the MLF in MegaFauna where Bison Riders used to be but are not now. The MLF in Megafauna_units has the Bison Riders in it.
