frequency NO, amount per era, yes . .but the monotonous stuff i mean CTD's . . .:nono:

Boss as Toffer pointed out, they are the same thing. And 50 is a lot.

As for the CTDs guess I've been "lucky" have not had one since SVN 9162.

50% would only work if we could have a bunch of background events without any pop up messages.
Forest fires, forests becoming ancient, migrating animals, volcano events, moving floating ice feature in ocean and etc. that happens outside borders would not need pop ups.
 
Didn't understand you ... I am not at war with all NPCs, with just one at the moment.
I tried turning on and off Peace among NPCs in WB, but nothing changes.

Also when i declare war and score window gets messy, there comes error in log (see on screenshot).
You are always at war with all NPCs. NPC does not mean AI player. It means players that aren't playing by the usual game rules (Barbarians, Animals, Neanderthals, Insectoids and more to come.)

However, it seems like you're trying to say if you declare war on another player, you get some python errors and some display issues with the player list. I might be able to fix that. Hopefully.

Is anyone else getting this problem? Just trying to get an idea of how easy it will be to replicate.

Those two minidumps I posted, well, they were due to an xml mistake on my part, no need to debug them, hope I didn't waste your time on them.
Ok, excellent. Thanks! Was just about to look into it. I don't have a lot of time this weekend for modding. It's a very unusual weekend.

The problem is actually mostly my ability to concentrate is shot. I quit smoking and coffee 7 days ago and have been working out every day since and I'm still far from psychological equilibrium... I thought I was going to have more time today than I will... I accidentally had a soda last night and haven't been able to sleep since so I'm probably going to be crashing soon. Ugh.

That and my work schedule is weird these days - you MAY have noticed. I get one day off one week then 3 days off the next. Always a good week for modding when I can get 3 days off and really get some concentration in but on the one day off week I can be a bit scatterbrained (this week is one of those.)

So yeah, not an ideal week for me. But I'll take a look at SO's issue here and see if I can do something with that.
 
Not possible atm to disable the message afaik.

I'm guessing it's a Neanderthal city; there seems to be some bugs with them; I get CTD when they spawn.

Edit: Found and fixed an xml error for neanderthals NPC.

That's exactly what it was and sounds like what I've been bashing my head against here over and over not realizing it was in the xml!

I'll test to see if SO's save is fine now but I think you just solved my headache there for the most part so that frees me to look into the visibility of units in battle issue.

EDIT: Yep... SO's save is good to go. Does seem to be moving a bit slow between turns so I'll have to look into that at some point here.

In CIV4EraInfos.xml I'm going to change the iEventChancePerTurn down to the 10 from 50. I also found that the iAnarchyPercent has also been changed. Am Reducing the Eras after Preh to 5 from as high as 40. Preh was set at 0, change will be to 1.

I had the same problem in my previous game but after I updated to the current SVN version I started a new game and deleted the old one. I was a little lazy and tired at the time to report the bug. It didn't brake the game so it didn't bother me too much.

If I run into it in my current game I will send a report. It probably will happen today or tomorrow.
 
Or, he hopped on and off a transport-ship, which is something they may occasionally do when on Hunting Automation.

Im running SVN 9185. Getting a load of error messages in game at the start of each turn. see screen shot atatched

And the score/intel panel bottom right has vanished

All that means is that U need to "run as administrator"

@Toffer: I've attempted the theory that a crash is being caused by invisible unit attacks or stealth defenses by eliminating animation calls IF either unit is not completely visible to the other and...

No fix to Salvelinus's situation with the sun bear.

It MIGHT be a fix for some of the other situations you were talking about??? but not in this one test case I have to work with.

On a second point we've been discussing, apparently the patrol command DOES have a check that makes the creature attempt to ignore putting itself in the way of immediate harm. Not a bad idea in general but we've seen what it's doing for animals (which it has ALWAYS been doing with animals btw!) and it is a little slow in terms of processing to an evaluated answer. So... easy enough to skip that particular check for animals.

I'll take a look at SO's loop next.

I've always hated that behaviour in animals; send it to oblivion.
 
SVN 9181

On the screenshot there is the error message and the disappearing player list we talked about earlier. I uploaded a save of my game. If I declare war on another civ this happens.

Also I had a CTD at the end of the same turn but I can't repeat it. I uploaded a minidump anyway. The combat animations are turned off. I started the game with SVN 9181 today. I tweaked the event frequency in the CIV4EraInfos.xml in my game but it shouldn't be a problem if I'm not mistaken.
