In the latest SVN as I loaded a game and all native cultures were auto built in one of my cities. These are the base cultures, South American etc., you should only have one!

I checked this with a few saves did you build Cleopatra's Needle?

After my last updates to SVN builds 8880 and 8881, my post-v36 SVN (don't remember the version) game save will generate a "Failed to compress game data" error on save - regardless if I just save it after loading or if do a recalculation first.

Could my save not be forwards compatible? It would be sad to abandon my very long game. One day, I just want to get to the space age on a GEM map ;)

Ok there is something wrong i didn't notice it before and sadly i can't look into it anymore today. I don't understand it really since only PropertyBuildings and AutoBuildings should be auto built nothing else unless that got changed.

Revert back to svn 8878 or 8879 and see if you can continue with those builds.

Yes.

I also can build more harbours even when I have one

I'am going to revert all the changes from rev8881 because something must have become broken yesterday then i updated my workcopy:(

I will have to change Cleopatra's Needle to fit with the new system TB has for buildings. You can only build one but the python builds two more for you. I can achieve this in a different way.

I'd look it over for ya but I'm not in a position to do so at the moment. Sorry.

This has nothing to do with whatever alberts did.
The one in the second row is Cothon, the Carthaginian UB replacing Harbor in the unmodded BTS.

EDIT:
Cothon gives additional :health: with Clam, Crab, Fish, Shrimp and it doesn't have crime and water pollution properties like Harbor. Also it gives +1:hammers:, +2:commerce:, +2:gold:. It even provides one more trade route.

Many UBs were changed to World Wonders and now gives many benefits. I think it was done when the Culture system was introduced.
Cothon was obviously overlooked since it has same BUILDINGCLASS as Harbor.

Thanks for the tip!

I get the same save error with Build 8878.
What was the build for the v36 release?

Please back up to SVN the next dll release before that and see if that has any bearing on it.

I knew i should have kept both copies of the pic, because in the pic i had BOTH DID have the exact same stat's, as i mentioned, and BOTH are named the same also . .

Was CULTURE_HUMAN an original hydro base culture? I don't remember ever seeing that one before.

There are too many ill-defined cultures, a couple that make no sense at all (why do we really need to glorify Confederate culture in an non-ACW mod?) and several that are too powerful, e.g. US culture.

You don't see them but without them the Culture system does not work. The nation you choose to play comes with one of them.

Eventually we wanted to have it so that you start off as one of
  • South American
  • African
  • Oceanian
  • Asian
  • Middle Eastern
  • European, or
  • North American

then you would evolve your nation into whatever.:D

At the moment you get one of those with your starting nation and can get others through conquest. They allow access to the Cultures.
