Single Player bugs and crashes v40 plus (SVN) - After Oct 2019

Ok, the fix is available now on latest SVN.
Fixed.
Also we have found that neanderthal captive can be upgraded to neanderthal tracker even if Tracking is not discovered yet. Looks like a bug...

I'm on a duel map in the renaissance era. Usually MAFs give a different message.

A dedicated graphics card, I think. All I know is the MAFs are becoming more frequent for me.

Ouch, only 768 MB of VRAM., C2C use about that amount in any game you would play.
Your windows is probably eating up those 768 MB in VRAM without having started C2C too, bacground processes use VRAM too.
Your internet browser use about 100 MB in VRAM, so that should be closed when you play C2C. ^^

The shared system memory is borrowed from your RAM, how much RAM do you have?

4 gb

Here's my recommended (not exactly minimum, but close to it) memory specs for C2C

With only 4 GB of RAM you should have 2 GB of VRAM for C2C.
OR
With only 768 MB of VRAM you should have 8 GB of RAM for C2C.

This is because background processes use both a bunch of VRAM and a bunch of RAM, so what's left leaves C2C with a bit of a shortage to juggle around with.

Well I can't upgrade, I'm using a laptop.

It used to run fine, but it's been slowly getting worse.

Yeah, that's a bummer, all I can do is say that I'm 90% sure that your hardware is causing you more MAF's than others.
The error message about VRAM you posted back there, I've only ever seen that twice on my computer, and it was both when on the enormous UEM scenario. I haven't played that scenario myself, but I've tried to debug some saves provided of that map.

Could be your system, due to updates or software installations, is eating up more in background resources now than what it used to for you...
Could be it's just getting old and has trouble with the limited free memory more now than it used to. I don't know.
Could be C2C has more intensive graphical assets now than it used to...

The graphical paging was changed up a bit by billw after v40.1, perhaps his changes made the game less forgiving for low end computers.
Graphical paging is the system that release used graphical memory when it reaches a certain amount of MB's

Actually I have 8 gb of memory not 4 gb. Yeah well, no surprise, I guess I'll eventually have to give on this up mod

I know, I have 64 bit.

Using SVN 11199. I noticed that "War dogs" do not become obsolete when "Guard dogs" become available (see attached screen shot from a city build list). Is this "by design"?

Normally I build war dogs as soon as they become available but in this city's case I built a barracks, then a garrison without upgrading the dog producing building.

One probably replaces the other so it would be a waste to build the lesser of the two before building the one that replaces it.
