Single Player bugs and crashes v43 plus (SVN) - After January 2023

Do you focus getting tribalism ASAP?
No, I get the Civic giving Techs as a Priority. If Obsidian is available, I also head for it 1st before Tribalism. This path thru the Techs will include more techs researched than beelining to Tribalism. Getting off the Default game Start Civics to the next level of each Civic category is a Must do to bring Research, Culture, Gold, etc up to the old standards when you hit Ancient Era. But every level of Difficulty higher than Noble impedes the player (ie AI gets a cost cutting % that increases with each higher level of Diff).

The next time you start a new game, try seeing how beelining tribalism and founding new cities goes. You'll be more behind in the short term because your tech will be reduced due to maintenance (sometimes I fall as low as 30% if there's real good spots I want to grab :crazyeye:), but by ancient era I'm fairly certain you'll end up with more tech due to the cities maturing earlier and being able to support more cities of their own.

There are also culture issues WITHOUT using RCS. As it stands now going to war is almost impossible unless you bring an overwhelming number of units and take out an entire civ at one time. The enemy almost never loses ANY culture until they are wiped out. No more taking 2-3 cities, getting peace, and coming back to finish them off later. If this is by design it needs to be optional. Forcing that on players is wrong.
This is fixed in the upcoming v43.1 patch.

@Toffer90 is this the case the AI placement happens before players? Thought it was random 🤔
Difficulty used to affect it, so that it was just random what order players within each difficulty step got to pick the best available startingPlots, i.e. that those with easier diff would always get plot before those on higher diff.
Though that is no longer the case due to complaints from Joeseph and others, so now it is just a lottery who gets to pick starting plots in what order.

Question: is Noble Difficulty still a level playing field between AI and player in terms of all modifiers? Ie Costs are the same, research the same, etc.?

EDIT: Since moving down to Monarch I have gotten the Religion Tengri for the 1st time in years now. And I just got Andeanism too. :)

Hey, I looked around and saw people having this issue before, but I just hit Information Era and got Space Tourism, but my space stations are unable to upgrade for some reason? Previously people were saying it was a territory issue, but I tried using World Builder to add the tile to my domain but heavy rockets still couldn't upgrade the station.

Well they are normal improvements now.

Instead you build early space settlers, such as Cislunar/Lunar/Planetary settlers on Earth in beginning.
This building is called Space Station, and you build it on Earth.

Ah I see, so the units don't upgrade them anymore, they just upgrade after belonging to territory settled by Cislunar settlers and such?

couple of items: svn42

1. all copper builds DONT work, ie, i put each copper item to be built first but then next turn they APPEAR not built again each and evert turn. pic1/2 and saved .. .

2. dont ya think that 2324 on the anarchy takeover is a little too much,, pic 3(high)
1. Its just two buildings screwed up by wonky code - as if you lost and regained access to copper when just before they get built.
Then they never register in city admin as built.

Is this what StrategyOnly is experiencing with SVN 11543?
The 1st screenie #97 shows in the red warnings that my copper has stopped working. And that My National Copper in Washington DC needs to be reactivated/
The 2nd screenie #98 shows that all my citizens save 1 have been changed to Specialists'
This is the turn after updating to latest SVN.
In the game you will see some more Cities with the red vs the green City Circle in the Name.
To fix this in game you have to go into each city in red and reassign all your Citizens Back to a tile to work the tile.
Save game below. This was started by my Mod Named C2CSVN (for SVN games) vs the Github Mod Caveman2Cosmos (for FinalRelease Games).

Can't load your save, mod folder is wrongly named which will cause bugs.
No idea how you managed to even load the mod with the folder wrongly named.

As I explained for SVN games I have a folder placed in the BtS Mods section named C2CSVN that I use for SVN games. The Contents of this folder comes Directly from the SVN Updates. Copy Paste from the SVN. It runs just fine on Both my computers.
The Regular Caveman2Cosmos Mod folder is for Github Caveman games. For which I use the FinalRelease build.

Of course, if you don't want to make a similar folder named C2CSVN with the contents directly from the SVN itself and placed in your BtS Mod folder then No you won't be able to load it with your Github version. I thought that was self explanatory? Guess not huh!?

All that aside the problem is that the SVN builds from 11539 thru 11543 introduced a new bug from the code and culture changes. It removes all or almost all citizens from their tiles and makes them all Specialists. The player Has to go into each city and manually place the Citizens back on the tiles to get them working. So if a mine for Copper on a tile has no citizen working it then the mines stops producing. If the mine stops making copper then the National Copper in what ever city you placed it in Also stops working. Important info I think you would need to fix the problem Strategyonly posted about.
