SLNES II: Descendants of Aadora

Larry (Badunoff)
Personality: Brutish, impulsive, inventive, not above playing favorites, occasionally doing an unfunny prank on somebody, has an annoying habit of talking about himself in the third person as though read his own scripture, childish
Ideology: 1. Don't mess with Larry. 2. Don't annoy Larry 3. Don't do anything stupid or else.
Birth Myth: When Aadora was creating land, he inadvertently dropped a pebble where it was not meant to be. When he tried to pick it up, the pebble rolled away from his hand and down the hill, into the water. He picked it out of the water, but now it was wet and it had to be dry before he placed it in its correct place or his plans would be disrupted. He decided to dry it by holding it over the sun. To his amazement, the pebble hatched into a full grown god strengthened by the unfinished water, the heat of the young sun, and the touch of the creator. It hatched into Larry.
Other Info:

Creation Story: Larry was angry that Woololo had taken the land that Larry wished to control. In his wrath, Larry punched the ground, hoping to smite Woololo's creations, but in his anger, he missed and thus it was that a circle of rocks appeared about a big dent in the ground, with a lake in its center, formed by the ring Larry wore on his hand.

OOC: A circle mountain range with a lake in its center and grassland with a few hills around this lake in Section 21. This mountainous circles not entirely complete. There is a grassy pass through which a small spring flows to the greater lake to the south east. This ring of mountains is surrounded by a gloomy dessert.

Dinaus (LDiCesare)
Personality: Hedonistic, Aesthet
Ideology: Enjoying life. Might makes right. The stronger should establish order upon the weaker.
Birth Story:
Dinaus came out of the water. He took a shape fit to handle this new... thing? place? Whatever the name was. Dinaus first tried using a shape like a droplet of water, so practical in the water. But he would always flow downwards if he stopped concentrating, and he deemed that impractical. He then grew an eye to see what was happening around him, and liked it. So he grew another eye, and everything became deep. Dinaus grew a third eye, but this didn't bring much more information. He grew a few other eyes too see more, but after a hundred eyes, he got bored and reverted to a single pair for the moment. He could see around him, and the sight was a bit flat, although the land rose from the sea onwards. He had to move there, so he sprouted limbs. A dozen to begin with. It was awkward to coordinate all of these, so he reduced the number to three. Three limbs made him stable, and he could walk. So with this shape, Dinaus started exploring the world.
Other Info:
Dinaus can take many shapes, and loves to roam the world. He interacts with it from inside rather than from outside. After initial bouts of world-building and geomancy, he will most likely interact with living beings on a more personal basis.

Geomancing
Dinaus moved from the sea inwards and, after a first period of joy at the novelty of all things, he began getting bored. He decided to raise the land a bit. Particularly to the sunset side, where it was being swampy. So cliffs were raised on the sea in many places, and the waves crashing on the cliffs looked nice. But Dinaus didn't like monotony, so the cliffs didn't cover all the coastlines. There were some beaches and creeks, and a wide variety on the coastline. When he thought the place was nice enough, Dinaus turned south and started raising and lowering the land all over, forming hills and small peaks from which he could see a nice panorama. Small rivers and waterways flowed from the east to the western lake and the northern sea, and Dinaus planted trees of many kinds on the hills to enhance the landscape.
And then he got bored again. He sunk a few hills in the north near the sea, creating a few lakes, and put some weeds there, but he didn't feel like it. He brought more trees everywhere, but started thinking he needed to do something different in order to have more fun.

OOC
Region 5. The lakes mentioned are those already on the map. The region has many cliffs on the coasts in the north and the lake that borders province 4. Many hills in the east, some near province 4, bordering the marshes. Small rivers run from these hills but nothing unusual or important. Dedicuous forests, with some conifers and maybe some weirder trees. Very good-looking landscape, at least from Dinaus's standpoint.

Apatè (Eltain)

Personality: Thoughtful, rageful, vengeful, somewhat paranoid

Ideology: "Me and my own". Protect yourself. Hurt others, before they hurt you. Everyone is out to get you, so why not get them first.

Birth Story: Apatè was the sole inhabitant of a great island on the underside of the world, hung there from the rock ceiling by four great ropes in the sky. He had been there in the blackness since he could remember; and that was a long, long time ago. For eons he knew nothing but his mind and his anger at having been trapped sometime in the distant past. With the birth of the world and the great geyser of Woololo's creation, he escaped into the world above.

Other Info: Apatè oft disappears back through the geyser into the "underworld" as it were, and brings back rocks with special properties and deposits them throughout region 14, in an attempt to make his new home somewhat familiar.

Creation: Apatè escaped from his underground prison and raged across the world, striking at it in his fury. One such scar was unhealable; the "finger lakes"; 4 long lakes and 1 shorter lake near the end, all arranged like claw marks on the surface of the world. This strike caused a tidal wave of unfinished water to crash over it, making it pregnant with life.

OOC: The creation of 5 "claw mark" shaped lakes, all next to each other. Independant rivers from the Mesa-ish area should feed from the north and drain them in the south into that large lake there. This "finger lakes" area should be very fertile in the future, if that's possible to set up at this stage. Metals such as bronze and iron are abundant here- see "other info".

Meh, I felt like changing mine.

The Master of Puppets

Personality: Some call the Master insane. Some call him a god who likes entertainment. But one thing is certain. When the Master is in your presence, you feel like Death will take you any moment. The Master rewards those that please him, and punishes those that do not.

Ideology: The Master likes to build up and destroy in cycles. He will build up a great empire, then have a great series of catastrophes destroy it, and then repeat the cycle. He likes to add some entertainment. But he will help those who need help, and if he likes something, he will ensure its survival.

Birth Story: Nobody really knows how the Master was born. The Master says that he was not born to Aadora, but he was adopted. What exactly this means is unclear.

Other Info: The Master has four "friends" that will do his bidding. They are the Four Horsemen.

Calling province 15, will do the creation post later.

The Scholar (Haseri)
Personality: Observant, patient, quiet
Ideology: There are no limits, only obstacles.
Birth Story: The Scholar was born of Aadora, like all the other gods, but it did not do so violently.
Other Info: This god is jealous of its all-knowing progenitor. It wants to know that past, the present and the future. If the Scholar concentrates, it thinks it can see the future, but is merely the god's hopes and dreams becoming vivid and real only to itself.

Creation

A currently nameless land for a currently nameless god. Away, across the sea from the squabbles of its siblings, the Scholar sat on the barren ground, looking towards the waves. As it sat, ghosts of things yet to come and things that may never be swam into the vision of the god. It knew it did not have the power to create these things yet, but that the god wanted them all the more.

It walked for days around the island it had chosen. When it came back to where it had started, it knew what to do. It hit the ground just so, that the land buckled and rose in gentle slopes.

Then it took a deep breath. It cancelled out all the visions too far in future, things it had no control over. There was a sound, a creaking sound like the night contractions of an old house. Little saplings appeared from the ground, trees born of no seed. Their growth was fast. Soon, they towered over the god, conical and forever green.

OOC: Coniferous forest and hills at 36.

Creation:

The Master looked apon his land. He had accidentally stepped on it, creating a great plain where his footprint was.

OOC: Plains on 15 with hills in the western edge.

Deity Name (player): Rancor/Terrance
Personality: Brooding over wrongs, although not necessary vengeful but somewhat paranoid and fearful of others, Enjoys the creation of Suffering, Protective of 'His' property
Ideology: Look out for Number One, and he will look out for you; Never Forget
Birth Story: He was once happy, powerless, maybe, but a happy being. He lived, if you can say that, in a sphere of contentment.
But one day, one of his brothers took him out of the sphere, and left him in the great Void. He has only himself. So he kept to himself, protecting himself from the nothingness that threatened to making HIM worthless as well.
When he finally wandered back into creation, Aadora was already gone, watching from far above. All he can do is try to remember who wronged him, and wonder if he should, or even if he could, right it.
Other Info: He is the god of Loners and Emos, of Witches and Conmen. Sometimes a rich merchant will invoke his name to smite another in exchange for his wealth, or to ask for help in protecting his own. He usually has no preferences over who's favor he acts for or what he does. His goal is to find his enemy and do... something about his past.

Geomancing
And so he returned, but seeing his mother so far away, so distant, and the void yet so near and enticing, he is moved to tears. However, he selfishly hid them from the others, who eagerly pressed themselves on this world, and hid at a small island at the edge of the continent. There his tears and selfish-hate flowed into the ground, seeping into the local life. And there the creatures grew selfish and brooding, hiding with their own and fearful of others for imagined wrongs. And he ripped his hair out as he rolled over the island in fit of rage, smashing the ground. Where his back rolled grew murky pools and low lying plants, where his fist smashed grew hollow hills, while his hair grew into vipers of many kinds and trees of many shapes.

Silent now, he meticulously shaped the unscathed south, forming beautiful hills and cool forests. And soothed, he rose to the stars so near the Void, so far from his Mother, and yet where he belongs.

OOC: The Creatures there are larger and more fierce and slightly more intelligent. They can form alliances to drive away others intruding on their territory. The Northern tip will be a temperate rainforest-section of trees (Northwest America/Cascadia) while the center is swamps and small, brush-covered hills with lots of caves (Italy Pre-swamp draining). The southern section grows more and more beautiful the further south you go, with small rolling hills and beautiful, yet quiet, forests. (Southern Ohio, Appalachians)

I already took 36.

Impiosa
Personality: Loves to create, has a fairly easy going attitude, but highly paranoid.
Ideology: Impiosa simply wants to create things. He views the act of creation as an art, and greatly enjoys it. He finds little joy in destruction, and will try to avoid it. However, his paranoia is yet untested, and as such, he may prove unpredictable.
Birth Story: Imposia does not truly know how he came to be. The first things he remembers was darkness, surrounding him. He could barely recall anything that had happened before, save one thing: Aadora. He knew that it had created him, and this simple fact amazed Impiosa. How anything could form a being as complex as he and the other (who he only recalled vaguely) was simply astounding. Thus, when Sunfane was created, he set off immediately, to form creation, just as his creator had done.
Creation: Impiosa stood before a great plain. It was flat, and seemed to stretch forever. The perfect canvas to work on. Impiosa cracked his knuckles, and raised his hands. His hands then began to dance in the air, turning this way and that. All around him, plants began to shoot up tiowards the heavens, reaching ever skywards. Great trees formed a massive canopy, blanketing the lands below in shadows. Even greater trees broke through this shield, reaching up to the heavens. Shrubs and ferns blossomed, spreading across the surface of Creation. Vines sprung up from the ground, spiraling along the trees, reaching out for the sun.

As Impiosa stood to survey his work, his soon sensed that he was not alone. The others were busy creating as he was, including...them, the Mad Ones. While he knew little of them, he knew that they thrived off of chaos. This would not do, not at all. His creation could not, MUST not be contaminated. In order to preserve his work, he raised his hands again, this time, with force. The ground broke, and great peaks rose up from the flat plains. They encircled his domain, with cliffs jutting out all along the range.

Impiosa then stood on the highest north peak, overlooking his masterpiece below. It was beautiful, yet it lacked one thing he couldn't quite place. The sound of water perked his ears, and he turned, to see a mighty river, flowing from a massive raised region in the center. This was what was missing. Yet, to allow it in, he would first have to crack open his great wall. But the risk seemed worth it to him. besides, the river's creator was not one of the Mad Ones. Eccentric, yes, but that was manageable. So Impiosa clapped his hands together, spreading them slowly apart. And the great peak of the north broke apart, creating a gap through which the river flowed. The soothing waters rushed inwards, flowing through his creation. It split may times, bending around the great trees, and cutting large troughs trough the forest. At last, his first great creation, was complete.

OOC: Geomance territory 20. Fill the entire region with a vast and diverse jungle. Encompassing the jungle on all four sides are a massive chain of mountains, unbroken, save for one spot in the north, where the river from the mesa flows through. The river will break up into many smaller rivers, many times, all across the jungle.

Deity Name (player): Shara/Lord_Iggy
Personality: Nurturing, Tolerant, Resilient
Ideology: The world shall burgeon with abundant life, which shall diversify, flourish, adapt, and die, perpetually recycling into itself.
Birth Story: Shara was born as the twin of the Wild One, yet the two were separated when they first crashed into the primordial waters of Sunfane. Within the ocean depths, she stirred, extruding life and vitality into all around her. In time, the waters flourished, but Shara looked to the land, seeing it bare. It was thus that she decided to bring life to the land. Hauling herself out of her watery birthplace, she dragged the water behind her as she drew herself up, throughout the terrain of the world all the way up into the highest of the mountains, where the water reached its pinnacle. At this point, Shara released life into the world, spreading from her garden home in the heart of the continent, all the way down her divine river and back into the sea.
Other Info: A shapeshifting goddess of fertility and abundance, Shara views herself as the giver of all mortal life.

OOC I would like to create a grand river of life spanning most of the continent, with a garden that is the nexus of mortal life on this world at the source of the river. Does that work? At region 19, a slow rise into the mountains, with a spring in a sheltered valley amongst the peaks. In this place is the garden, the nexus of all mortal life, which overflows with fertility, escaping outwards in all directions from its cradle. The spring too ultimately makes its escape, forming the grand river of life, which will some day make its way via a diverse and meandering flow throughout the continent.

OOC: Welcome Lord Iggy. The way this works is you pick a # on the map and you get to develop the land of just that region for the first Turn. The gods are taking their time to craft the terrain. So for the first turn, you just get to focus on one region. Also your name is not Terrance. ;)

edit: I recommend beginning your proposed River of Life, and continuing to expand it as turns go by. Could be interesting.
