Oh, and also, (since there's no post editing):

Will research Economy 1 tech.

My gold is all going into this research.

I think that may be an NPC, Mathalamus. And after your claims, this is the map:

I've left off your free armies, Mathalamus, since I think you'd probably like to place those. Next person can use this map, though.

Pre-Claim Orders:
5 Gold into Eco 1, 5 to vault

we hereby agree to the trade agreement. as for the expansion, we feel that we cant expand somewhere without pissing someone off. the most i can do is make some beachheads on all continents, except Africa, where a true colony is already in the works.

Keade, Daimyo of Korea decided to prove Japan's military might. She set out to invade China. The city of Liayang was her first target. Her brother, Kota, would lay siege to the city while she traveled to Kyoto to call for reinforcements. The council granted her enough funds to give further training to her samurai, as well as investments into siege warfare. (research army 1)

As a result of this new weapon, the Trebuchet, the city fell in less then a year. (claimed 1 territory in norther China, moved 1 army in there)

Meanwhile, the Daimyo High Council decided to start a new expansionist policy. Taking advantage of many uninhabitted nearby islands, they decided to fund colonies on 4 of them. (claimed 4 islands, 7 gold into Infrastructure 2)

The high council also decided to fund a new chamber in Edo. moving the capital there in the following year. (3 gold into civic)

Spend 4 gold on Army (should complete it given my scientific boost)
3 gold on Civic
7 gold on Econ (should complete it given my focus and scientific boost, if I need 8 to complete it spend 1 less gold on civic...)

Edit:
Question: Given that we get a free army in every territory that we claim, can we instead of an army, get a free navy?

Tawansitsuyo:

Expansion:

By default, you expand to 5 provinces per turn, or 6 if you're Expansionist. Overlapping claims can be resolved through talks or war. Failing either of those, it goes to the first to claim it.

You cannot claim and launch a war at the same turn. You are free to claim and be attacked on the same turn, however; it's part of the "Defender's Advantage."

Every province you claim gets a free army in it.

There is no distance penalty in the traditional sense; you must be able to reach a coastal province via ship or a landlocked province via army in a single turn to be able to claim it. You require a fleet to claim overseas.

Military:

Movement is simple. By default, every land and sea unit moves one province per turn. Every 5 army techs adds one to this - with Army 25, your armies can move 6 provinces, and your navies 6 sea provinces.

Help me understand this a little bit, as I see people claiming stuff that I don’t think you can reach yet, like Nedim claiming the two islands in the Gulf of Guinea.

South Africa Orders

Income: 14

- 5 towards Civics 1
- 9 towards Civics 2

Here are my claims in light yellow. Can I get 2 Navies and 3 Armies with this expansion instead of 5 armies?

The NCR expands

iotmap.png

Infra: 2
Army: 5
Civics:2

Bank the remainder in the vault.

The Habsburg Empire expands within Central Europe and is happy to accept the Islanders' trade agreement.

(The map should now be current for everyone, except Domination.)

I completely forgot to note my research - 5 gold each on Army and Economics and 2 gold on Civics. We will take up Aiolos's offer and extend the Salt people the princely sum of 1 gold. We also offer the Angevin Empire a royal marriage and accept the Islanders' trade treaty.

South Africa will grant this loan. Orders to be updated shortly.

EDIT. epic x-post.. I'll leave it up to Aiolos to choose who to borrow from.

New spending orders:

10 into Econ 2 (total of 3 avalible Techs)
5 into Civics

(Current Trade Agreements are with NPC-Enerjak and Math) @20% of income
Accept the Loan from Arakhor
Offer Trade to Arakhor

Sorry yal, not what was discussed, but I shifted a little to give Civplayah a little breathing room.

Woo. now that that's done...

TF, can this turn last about 48 hours? I need to Diplomacize(TM) with some Africans

Very well.

Question: Given that we get a free army in every territory that we claim, can we instead of an army, get a free navy?

If you so desire.

Help me understand this a little bit, as I see people claiming stuff that I don’t think you can reach yet, like Nedim claiming the two islands in the Gulf of Guinea.

You must be able to physically reach a location with your navy in one turn (two turns if expansionist) to be able to claim overseas. Nedim's navies can only move one per turn, so he couldn't claim those. But if he reached Tech Level 15, his navies would be able to move 2 per turn(an extra movement point is added every 15 tech levels), and so, he would be able to colonise it.

It was only three sea squares away; 2 * 2 = 4.

We also offer the Angevin Empire a royal marriage and accept the Islanders' trade treaty.

The United Empire informs the Habsburgs that, while they appreciate the gesture, monarchy has long since been declared dead. ;) The United Empire is a Republic, and proud of it!
