Poland can into space!

But seriously, good for Poland and the ESA.

Aaaaaand Ajidica stole the punch line.

Dammit man! I was really pumped to make a funny!

Good news, although the initial contribution won't be very significant.

Poland was already an associated member so I assume this makes not much difference to the scientists working on collaborative projects with other ESA scientists. Only to Polish space projects who will get much more funding now.

I'm embarrassed to ask, but what is the punchline? I see that he accidentally a word... but surely there's more.

Yeah, as History_Buff mentioned the whole "Poland cannot into space" joke was a big thing on the Paradox boards, and it's slowly crept around the internet a bit.

What are all those bumps they are finding on Mars?

Does the planet have acne? ;)

I realize this is the Chamber and I really don't mean to be flippant, but simply because of what the article says about the shape of the craft needed for this, it just screams Vulcan...

So it releases a bunch of energy when it stops. How much energy are they talking about? enough to destroy a space station or satellite? Enough to destroy a moon? A planet? A solar system? How did the Roswell aliens avoid this problem?

How did the Roswell aliens avoid this problem?

Being more advanced, knowing more science that we as a species don't even realize exists yet? They probably laugh at some of the things our scientists say is "impossible."

In 1901, at the start of the 20th century, pundits looked back a hundred years and wondered how the species survived while wallowing in such ignorance and primitiveness.

Now it is the begining of the 21st, and our bright ones marvel at how little the ancients of the last century were aware of.

Of course, the next century will not have that issue. Obviously we already know it all. ;)
