Speculation: New patch and/or DLC on the 21st of november

I would go with the Minoans over atlantis, you could have Knossos as the capital, and IIRC they had a series of cities around the Aegean, but not enough for a list. Mind you, they dealt with Poly well, so they could just do that.

Minoans for sure at least a real viable civilization. Atlantis is a could be but has never been discovered. It would be better served in a fantastical or mythical mod.

With the Minoans we can properly fix our ancient Greece mod. At the moment we are using the Indians as Minoans.

Of course, we don't technically know the language spoken, but I suppose you could always have him speak Greek.

It's already the 21st of November in Australia.

Just sayin' :eekdance:

Don't get your hopes up for any new info. They are milking this one. This from one day ago.

"Hello 2k Greg have you forgotten us?
It has been months and no word on whether the game is complete or not. The multiplayer portion of the game is half way completed and the AI for SP is still not up to standards. However, the state of the game is much better than it was on day one. All I am asking for is a small statement letting us know that there are still things to come instead of just flat out ignoring this forum because it is not CivWorld. We don't even need a release date just say something.

Sorry 2k Greg I meant 2k David" No word yet dammit!

CiV gamers on the 2K forums are getting pretty upset that there has been no word yet about updates to CiV. I am too, they are way overly concerned about civ world. Social gaming is taking over the planet. UGHH!!!!

Don't worry as soon there's a sniff of a DLC, 2k Cash, sorry Greg, will make his crawling appearance.

you know they going to do this for as long as possible without releasing civ 6 so they can milk us for everything.

A little ways back in this thread, there was an announcement from 2K. They were working on CivV, but not a DLC. Therefore, a patch.

They already told us a patch is in the works.

Indeed but not when! It will be a big surprise. I already sat on Santa's lap and asked him eye to eye for a big ol expansion! WHOO WHEEE BOYS!!! Wait and see bet there will be something. A patch definitetly but not by tomorrow. Although I hope I am wrong.

I never said when, it was in response to the people who said that Firaxis had abondoned CivV, or that it won't be patched again.

Hi all,

Ran across this forum while looking for DLC news. It's encouraging that a patch is in the works, as I think there are basic housekeeping issues that need to be looked at. I don't know if these have been discussed, but basic issues I've noticed include:

- DLC does not update the Civopedia or the Achievement list with new achievements or unit entries. Existing DLC should be added and new DLC content contain updates to these lists.

- The AI diplomacy is atrocious. AI Civs will, it appears, never accept any deal other than the one they offer, so negotiation is essentially impossible. This needs to be fixed.

- For some reason multiplayer diplomacy is only handled through chat windows - it would be better if the game activated the usual AI diplomacy interface when dealing with player civilizations, offering the same options (of course other diplomacy could still be pursued through chat).

- As a matter of personal preference, the cartoon interface (which I understand from Wikipedia is imported from a console game, no doubt hence its childish appearance and big friendly round notification bubbles) put me off playing Civ V for months until I found it was actually a good game. The game already offers a limited way of tailoring the view for nostalgia fans, including zooming out to a 'Civ 3' scale or taking a Civ 1 'top-down' 2D view. I think there should be a similar option for disabling or modifying elements of the interface - I miss the 'Help' window being called the Civopedia (and the detailed text descriptions of the technology/unit etc. being described), and it would be nice to have an option not to get giant bubbles dropping down the screen like lottery numbers.

Best,
Phil

1&2, not true. Not the diplomacy bit, the offer part.
3 - that;s got to do with the issues of MP, they don't need to create something more likely to crash or lag.
4 - What cartoon interface? The advisors? You can turn those off, if that's the issue.

Nobody knows when. I knew you did not know when. They will let us know soon in any case.

1&2, very true. On #2 Diplomacy is atrocious all around. There are tons more complainsts against the current diplomacy system than for it, so firaxis should do something about it finally.
