Spl01 - Noobish Players Try the Concurrent Format

Spoiler :

My save would be difficult (or at least inefficient) to take to the red dot. My warrior (Bob) is all the way East, between the cows and the crabs (on my green dot). My settler's about to pop, which means he'd have to wait for escort. Unless we want to risk losing him.

I was planning to settle out east first. It just looked like more prosperous land. (I still agree with that, BTW.)

Regarding whose turn we use, if no single turn seems any better than the others, let's just use Splime's, as he's the tie breaker. This avoids any embarrassment of voting for yourself/not voting for yourself.

Three's not really much of a democracy.

YES! hopefully we'll get something from him, even just letting us know that he's got it...do we know if he's even got it??

Spoiler :
The problem is that I don't think this is an adequate stopping point. Unless autocon gets something really good, we could play 10 turns of everybody's turnsets, and then post the best one, and vote. With 10 turns of each, we might get a better view for the voting. Also, next time, we should all post the saves, so we can look in detail.

Reason why I suggest this is because the process needs to be democratic, or it won't work. How fun is it to just have one person play the "official" game the whole way... However, if the "ten turns of each" scenario doesn't work out, then we can always shift around the timekeeper and tiebreaker position...

hello guys, got the save, will try my best to play still tonight and post the results here tomorrow

No hurries, Autocon. I understand your time issues. My only request is that, if you need to skip a turn, let us know early so we can move on rather than wait.

That gets my vote. I want our turns to be as variated as can be.

folks, just to make sure i'll do the right thing:

1) how many turns should i play?

2) detailed turns description/screenshots are required?

3) do i need to post the save along with my turns comments or not?

thanks

if you're playing now, do 30

somewhat detailed turn descrips, so we know what's going on...i think mine was a 'bare minimum' type of post, and it's just basic info

i'm not sure

Spoiler :
also, do ya'll want to play 10 of each person's save each, or should all just play 10 more turns of our own set??

Spoiler :
10 of each will be too confusing. Sorting it out in the end would be a mess. That's 16 saves to pick from.

Autocon,

None of us has posted his save, but I think it's a good idea. I'll post mine this afternoon.

Detailed turn log/pics are only a must if you're as weird as I am.

Also, please don't read the spoilers. There's a very non-obvious path to glory that each of us wishes we'd taken. If you read our spoilers, you'll know what it is, then it'd be too much like kissing your sister.

wife *sigh* still alive

i agree that 10 of each would be too crazy, that's why i asked :crazyeye:

You referring to the spoiler there, Pholk?

Maybe kissing Splime's sister would be fun, though?

Um, no. Just no...

Spoiler :
If autocon presents a similar situation, maybe another 10 turns wouldn't be too bad. Also, when I said play each save, I new that that would be horribly confusing to post all of them. I was thinking to play ten of each, and then post the one you like best. Or, we can just do 10 more of our own... Then again, if nothing major happens, we run a risk of just increasing the difference of playstyles... or, on the other hand, the styles of play might converge... Alternatively, I was thinking that we vote for the top two, but then that's almost worse in ways. We'll wait for autocon first though.

Good idea with save posting. Here's Mine:

We'll wait for autocon first though.
Best course of action. Who knows, maybe he'll sweep the first two religions. Either of us could have done it had we not just assumed they were out of reach.

yeah, that is the best course. We're all just too eager to keep playing to just be patient.

HURRY UP AND WAIT ALREADY!

Spoiler :
I think we ended up "misunderestimating" the Prince level. We overestimated, and didn't underestimate enough. Thing is, on noble, I would regularly get Hinduism without starting with mysticism.

"misunderestimating" [/spoiler]
nice!

i agree, though. however, where would we be, infrastr.-wise, if we chose that 'other route?'
