State of the Union - as it happens

On his list of torture techniques used by Iraqis, sounds like the government of El Salvador in the 1980s. But I digress...

I didn't really like that part. Besides being grotesque, it was a pretty obvious "gross-out tactic".

born in 1989...no idea what youre talking about

"We seek peace. But if war is forced upon us, we will fight with full force."

If this is about Iraq, I'm just sickened. But I think (hope) its about terrorists.

is it just me, or does this sound like last years aside from the new budget?

The designated absent Cabinet member is John Ashcroft...so, if the Capitol blows up, then a lot of liberals are going to be frightened... ;)

Ah, they just said almost 80 applause interruptions, and 3 cell phone rings.

It's over, and everyone is relieved.

 If that was for real, the guy who left his cell phone on must feel like an idiot. And the guy who called too.

Anyway, in retrospect, I thought it was a good speech. The enviroment/economic proposals were nice, but the Iraq/terrorism felt like the same old rhetoric.

but thats just me

Thats it, Saddam is history. IMO, there will be a big rise in the polls supporting that action.

Just an interesting observation: On a news site, the top story is "Bush seeks to rally Americans in speech". The second item after this is "Denise Brown mulls Senate run", followed by "Kissinger hospitalised in New York"... Syncronicity...

Hell, Greadius, YOU look tired and bored!
And I only watched half of it.

I don't understand the excitement over these things. Nothing interesting in politics has happened during a State of the Union address; its just hoopla.

I'm surprised you're so interest :hmm:

yeah he's toast

Gary Locke (Governor of Washington, Democrat) was talking about the federal defecit...

Maybe if they didn't spend so much...
