BT I Years 2000-700 BC
Time began uneventfully with some dumb guy suggesting to their tribe to stop roaming around and instead growing and cultivating crops near the river. Something more or like that happened throughout the world and WHAM. Civilization began and slowly the people who settled down began stretching their power and superior numbers and later, technology.
Small cities began to exert influence over their surrounding areas until they fought with other city states. Eventually over time, the victor would form a nation only to meet other nations in a never-ending cycle. War would emerge, first fighting with sticks and stones to phalanxes of spearmen, hundreds of bowmen and squadrons of chariots… The time of peace was over, and the war had begun…
China
The glory that would have been China has not even surfaced at all. The land of China, is a fractured land in and out of war with military innovations and technology flourishing because of it. The Chinese regions were the first to harness the usage of iron and the knowledge spread west. Ever since the fall of centralized Zhou power in 972 BC the fiefs or landed nobility of that Empire gained increasingly more and more power at the expense of the Zhou Kings. It was not until nearly a century later that these fiefs declared themselves independent and took on the title of the Zhou Kings. The next 200 years were mostly wars between larger states and smaller ones as rulers attempted to take over as much land as possible before they collided with their larger rivals.
As the rulers consolidated their Kingdoms, five distinct nations were formed. The Kingdoms of Shang, Qin, Qi, Yan and Wei stood at an impasse. The rulers of those nations were all too afraid of making the first move believing their other neighbors would invade them… Qin, Qi, Yan and Wei are what you would expect of normal Dynasties however Shang is a completely different.
The founder of the Kingdom of Shang believed that the Throne should pass on to the most capable candidate. Alas, this has only led to civil wars. The “most capable candidate” is of course open to interpretation and ambitious Generals have very often challenged recently crowned Kings on the field of battle leading to civil wars and defeated generals seeking asylum from neighboring Kingdoms. Shang is a divided land, but it is undoubtedly a great power shown by successful Kings who campaigned to the gates of Yong only to be beaten back upon the death of the King. Perhaps with changes, Shang can unite China?
South of the Warring States, the small state of Yue has been formed with much influence coming from Shang. They are Yue lured by the Chinese Civilization to build their own cities and emulate the glory of China. A wise Shang ruler would court them for they are a militaristic and honorable people willing to offer their services to a Great Lord….
India
India, or the Indus and Ganges Valleys as its known has hardly been a peaceful land since people first settled. Attacked by rampaging Aryan hordes from beyond the Hindu Kush frequently in search of wealth, the people of the Indus valley were originally swept away by the unexpected “guests” in 1900 BC. It was not until nearly 500 hundred years later that the banner of rebellion was raised by a holy man who claimed that Vishnu himself appeared in a vision telling him to preserve the land of the Righteous.
In the Battle of Kalal written in the Vedic Epics the two armies met numbering in the hundreds of thousands and it is said that the Aryans were on the eve of victory and routing their foes when a miracle happened. The sky opened up and there was darkness until the Great God Vishnu struck down the Aryan Armies with light and thunder cutting through the Aryan Army. Victory was assured then by Vishnu and the holy founded Mohenjo-Daro. Or so says the Vedic Epics.
As Mohenjo-Daro expanded it met with fellow Hindu Nations. The Kingdom of Shizavi in the east and Sampa in the far east. All south of these “civilizations” are Warlords and Tribal Chiefs though rumors persist of enlightened city states further south.
Middle East
The Fertile Crescent was home to the most ancient civilizations of the world such as Egypt, Babylon, Sumer and Akkad as well as the Hittites. Such large variety of nations certainly led to war. In the 19th Century BC when Hammurabi of Babylon attempted to conquer the various city states of Southern Mesopotamia, those city states united to form Sumer. Sumer proved victorious slaying Hammurabi at the Battle of The Two Rivers going on to vanquish the rest of Mesopotamia.
The Empire of Sumer vanquished all from where the Two Rivers met the Sea and to where it began. Alas it became overstretched and multiple revolts and rebellion brought an end to the Empire in 1449 BC as the Assyrians and Babylonians were revived with Egyptian and Hittite gold. Babylon proved victorious in the vicious civil war subduing both the Sumerians and the Assyrians in 1335 BC. Ushering in this great victory, Nebuchadnezzar I invaded the Hittite Kingdom utterly destroying their army with clever use of huge scythed chariots. At her height his Empire stretched from Sumeria to the Aegean.
However Nebuchadnezzar was assassinated returning home and brought a rush for power among his generals who seized power in Assyria, Sumer, Babylon, and Anatolia. The power struggle ended in 1078 BC with Assyria victorious in Mesopotamia even as she failed to reconquer Anatolia. Seeing the north blocked, Assyria invaded the Levant causing massive emigrations in the Phoenician Cities to their Western Colonies coinciding with the massive attacks of the Sea People. Striking a quick alliance the Assyrians divided the world giving the Sea Peoples southern Phoenicia and Egypt while the North was kept.
The Sea Peoples were later driven out of Egypt and into the Southern Levant where they fortified and based their nation to come in the next 300 years. Assyria was not as fortunate as massive rebellions came to be in Mesopotamia forcing her to withdraw from Northern Levant leaving control of it to the regional Phoenician City states. The Assyrians failed to hold their Empire as it was divided once more by the resurgent Babylonians and the Sawai the descendents of the Sumerians while the Assyrians returned to their cities in the north.
Meanwhile with the power vacuum in 978 BC in Anatolia allowed Greeks fleeing the wars in mainland Greece to colonize and set up the nations of Bithynia and Halicarnassus. However the power vacuum didn’t stay forever as in 854 BC the New Hittite Empire was proclaimed in Hattusa hungrily eying the two small Greek nations to this day.
Europe
The Greek Civilization, or more the Mycenaean one were the first “civilized” people of Europe being much influenced by the Phoenicians and Egyptians. In the Heroic Epic Panilliad it was said that a vast league of city states in mainland Greece furious over the abduction of their prize holy goat by Minoa set out in a thousand ships to conquer it. The Battle for Minoa raged for three decades as the war see-sawed to both sides until the destruction of the Minoan Fleet in a brilliant Fire attack by the Mycenaean one. The Mycenaean Army landed upon Minoa only to see fire and light pour down from the Heavens destroying the Capitol as well as the island, obliterating all life. A just reward from Zeus to punish them. (1)
The few survivors of the Minoan War fled to Sicily where they established the Empire of Sicily which slowly expanded to include the island and parts of Southern Italy. The manpower and treasury spent to prosecute the Minoan War devastated Greece leading to barbarian tribes overrunning Mycenaean Civilization leading to a so called Dark Age. This peaceful era ended in 850 BC when several Greek City States emerged from the shadows the leaders being Epir, Athens, and Sparta. Before then, Greeks attempting to leave the terrible conditions of Greece fled west to Italy and Sicily where the state of Napolia was founded as well as various city states which were later consumed by Sicily or Epir.
In recent times, there has been a quiet tension between the leading powers of Greece as each has begun losing places to expand after the Ionian Islands and later Byzantium were taken up by Athens. They are now beginning to hungrily eye each other… While the Macedonians up North formed a Confederation to “resist” Greek Cultural Influences and to fight back any Epirian or Athenian Aggression.
Italy wasn’t exactly peaceful either with the Etruscans filling North and Central Italy and establishing city states after the Greek manner. However as time went on the Empire collapsed leaving to a large series of city states the most dominant ones being Sienna and Rome (influenced by Aenas after the first sack of Troy, the Capitol of Bithynia you know the story). In the war for dominance as the two city states gathered alliances and prepared for the showdown the Romans struck first taking major gains but then suddenly just stopped. As the Siennan Armies cautiously advanced against the Romans wary of a surprise assault or ambush, all they encountered were abandoned buildings and the sort. There was no one living in the core territories of Rome. (2)
As much as it was disturbing, the Siennan Forces formally occupied Roma and renamed it to “Xenia.” Tensions are quite high after the Siennan Forces encountered the Napolia but aside from various skirmishes nothing much of note has occurred.
West of Italy, the Sarsicans based on Sardinia slowly expand towards Iberia and Gaul. These people are in fact descendents of Mycenaean colonists fleeing the Minoan War a claim that many mock and ridicule. They are a great naval people whose navy dominates the Western Med. Sea hands down. However complications have begun arising over territories in Iberia and the destruction of the colony in Gaul and the Siennan Conquest of Roma. Will Carsica’s rulers concentrate on Italy, or remain upon the seas?
Umayyad Cordoba with such an unique name has an unique origin. As you see their lands were originally the lands of Tartessos founded by a group of Mycenaean fleeing once more war. The city flourished for a while becoming good allies of the tribes that would later by the Umayyad. However one day for an unknown reason a massive earthquake followed by floods essentially destroyed the nation. In the aftermath, the Cordobans waltzed across the nation taking control of everything with no opposition from the non-existant people. Though the armies of grass and moss did put up a valiant fight, they were demolished by massive fire ants. (3)
Africa
Algeria (also known as The Jamahiriyan Kingdom of the Algerian Berbers) had an auspicious beginning colonizing the fertile lands of well Algeria. They have an unique government however it does cause problems. After the death of the reigning monarch, councils are formed to choose the next successor. Alas, the candidates involved aren’t exactly willing to just abide by their decision and the last civil war severely weakened Algeria allowing Carthage to regain land lost to the Algerians before.
The Republic of Carthage had its origins as a Phoenician Colony in the 1200 BCs. However with the conquest of Phoenicia by Assyria, the colony gained independence and with it began conquering the nearby tribes. Alas they picked on too many people and in 934 BC they were defeated by the Algerians and reduced to Carthage and Thaspus. However Algeria’s internal strife gave it a good opportunity which was used well. Carthage moved against Algeria and restored the borders to the status quo.
Americas
The Americas is pretty much a boring place with nothing out of the ordinary happening aside from two civilizations rising up from being primitive lowlife.
Olmecia and Chavín they are. In Central America in what would be known as Mexico, the Olmec’s rise to civilization is attributed by the success of the Crown Prince whom united the 3 competing city states into a solid nation. Alas the Crown Prince was proven to be insane as he ordered that everyone from Nobility to the Commoners were to be educated and taught how to read and write the pictograph writing of the Olmec People. They are a deeply spiritual people, praying to the Great Jaguar God for things such as a successful birth to military success. They are surrounded by barbarian tribes, the Zapotecs, the Mayans and Huastecs who all show great probability of adopting Olmecia’s culture
Chavin on the other hand is much more sane. The People of Chavin had fully mastered the arts of terrace farming where they grow maize as well as cotton and potatoes. Their medicinal techniques rivals if not surpasses much of Europe in its study and application. Their roads would shame any Greeks too. Despite their advances in many areas, they are still just the First Among Equals with their neighbors the Paracas and Cupisnisque. The Paracas are of a more gentle breed then the Cupisnisque and may be open to assimilation by Chavin…

(1) (2) (3) Cookie to anyone who can figure out the correlation between those 3 areas and why I destroyed them

Aside from north king that is
Thomander, the area with the thin border is your personal realm, there you can do virtually anything you want, but in the other territories the local commanders could be plotting against you… You are a recently enthroned King after all…
