@Das- its because I found the art on the internet; otherwise, just make everythign made of iron/steel out of bronze; all the armour itself; scale included, has a historical basis in the bronze age, and ineed, the only thign overlly exceptional is the specific design, not the concept

Update 2, 1800bce: The Grim Path
"It was an age of war....like man has never seen, and will likely never see again..."- European historian, Anthony AdamsonIn Scotland, what appeared to be an inevitable war between the Northumbrians and the Caledonians has been averted...much to the dismay of the somewhat weaker factions of the island of Britain. Many of these smaller factions have aligned themselves against the new power duo of Caledonia & Northumbria...causing problems for the plans of these ambitious leaders.
First in Caledonia. Using the sway of a beautiful woman, a royal marriage of its time was arranged. But many of the Scots of the other Kingdom disagreed already with the arrangment and rose up in arms. When it was learned he had been killed "out hunting", the people took matters into thier own hands and joined the army in fighting the Caledonian invasion force that came next. The new Druids helped the matter for Caledonia, which took up to the capital and then was fought to a standstill. Some war strategists believe other clans are now bound to merge together to fight agaisnt Caledonia, which has already occured in the north with the new clan of Orcadia.

Engerland is no less chaotic, as Northumbria concentrates its forces on the nearby kingdom of Anglia. Citing that "the name was all wrong" King Blackistone invaded the small and poor Anglia. While the strategy left much to be desired, the attack plan of "invade Anglia with everything and kill stuff and win" worked just because Northumbria had more stuff than Anglia did. Infact, once the capital was taken, the fight was ended as the remaining Angles catipulated or fled to nearby Wessex.

Wessex has not taken immediate action, other than invading Wales. Northumbria took some of Wales aswell.

Atlantis is alive with talk of the new grand temple that is to be built to the Titan, Ouranos. While perfectly possible, it will take many years and cost a good deal of money. Still, the mere talk of such an extravagance on the Atlantean religion has pushed some to join the military. In the military circles, they are considered Fanatics (Atlantean UU) who fight in any way for thier religion and Atlantis. Atlantis is not all peaceful of course, and its hard to be when your surrounded by barbarians such as the Hesperides.
Devising a grand new battalion scheme, the Atlanteans have taken advantage of the Hesperides lack of strategy. The new battalion scheme mixes spearmen and archers, rather than the traditional seperation. While it has not been tested against other civilized countries, it appears a success against the Hesperides atleast. *Xen, Id like to use your formation picture, but the site doesnt open*

Atlantis has also established a small fort in North Africa, naming it Tingis. As could be expected, more barbarians show thier faces, and are ready to fight.
Leaders in both Cordoba and Atlantea are dissapointed with the results of thier invitations to the Visigoths. Only 1 faction went to each. Some factions took it as a greater threat, and attacked more. Expansion has been slow in the Iberian peninsula the last several hundred years.

Visigothia now appears to be a more fractured "Barbariandom". The Basques, Ports, Castillieans, Aragonians, and Granadans all appear viable nation candidates you could say.
In Cordoba, the absence of a military order led to uneasiness. Many citizens wondered why no action was being done. Barbarian raids continued, and eventually one general decided to take matters into his own hands. Unfortunately, because he was unsactioned by the Caliph, the army consisted of mainly peasantry with a few soldiers mixed in. The army managed to keep the barbs away from the Capital, and constructed a series of forts on the frontier, but the Cordobans suffered incursions on the east and west fronts.

Estrusca begins a draft of criminals into the army. While this has boosted thier infantry, it has also led to somewhat more disorganization...and lead some people to believe that if they commit a crime, thier worst fate is the army.

Etruscan ventures into Sardinia & Sicily prove dangerous, and its discovered the land isnt entirely undiscovered. Etrusca, with trade and exploration, has discovered the Tahret Kingdom and the people of Rashka on the Dalmation coast.
More Etrusca. Annoyed by the air of a Roman led Italy, the Etruscan armies have set to it that that doesnt occur. The main army battled the Romans, mainly to a standstill, while another battalion snuck in by sea to help take Rome itself. Resistance fell quickly, and the Senate was mercilessly executed publicly. This has angered the Romans occupied by Etrusca, aswell as the Kingdom of Taranto.

Byzantium had plans. Grand plans. Plans that would leave them in control of Anatolia if all went well. Well....not all did. Something unexpected happened when the Ottoman army they were supposed to surprise, met them in battle. The two clashed for days, with the Ottomans finally falling back somewhat due to its poorer condition.

Corinth and Thebes have joined in a union, to combat the riches of Athens and the military machine of Sparta. This means there is a clear 3 way tie to control the peninsula....
Phoenicia continues its explorations, but it has been temporarily halted by a menace to the north. The Hittites have decimated the northern armies of Phoenicia with fast striking Chariot groups. This has disrupted trade, especially around Tyre.

Russia, Central Asia, and Northern Europe are all rather quiet this turn. The tribes of the Norwiegens and Windfell become full-fledged bronze nations, but other than that not much...

Man, I had a real good train of thought going before I had to leave....the quality will be alot better next time. Stats in the morning.
