The scientists on Harpell Prime were discussing with the Queen what course of research they should take, each arguing for a different way.
"We are lagging behind in Ship and Troop Weapons!" One of the more-militaristic experts lamented. "What good are our soldiers if they can only throw sticks and stones at enemies?"
"Note, however," a different scientist started, "that we are not fighting a war at all right now. I say we press on with Biotech and Energy technologies, to help our population live, and to ease transit times between star systems."
"All three of them," the first one sneered. "Speaking of which, when are we going to expand? I've heard about empires spanning as many as 10 star systems! And we are only living in a measly little trio in our local area. I mean come on!"
The Queen stood up. "This is not the time to discuss empire-building. We are here to talk about the course our research should take. I suggest you remember that!"
"Well, I say we should research more into biotech." A third scientist said. "We can't risk a Scourge outbreak!"
"I agree." Another said, then another, then another also concurred. Soon most of the scientific advisors were nodding in agreement that Biotech should be advanced, to the disgust and displeasure of the militarist.
"I think it's pretty clear that we're doing Biotech, then," the Queen declared.
"May I also suggest," the leader of the Biotech faction started again, "that we also cut funding to the military so that we don't spend so much on ships and troops that are not even being used against anyone?"
"No you may not," the Queen said curtly. "Meeting adjourned."

Interesting, but I'm not sure we want to part with Robotics 5 just yet, perhaps some other deal could be worked out.
Do you think you can bully other civilisations about as you please? We urge you to reconsider your belligerent stance towards a sovereign and unhostile nation. Why fight the Vakkra if you are no better than they?

In Return Emperor will apologice behalf of the intruders in asgron system. We had no knowledge of this system being part of your empire. Thus we would like to express our concerns regarding of this system just next to our homeworld, and we ask that in return for our withdrawal from Asgron system, said territory will be declared as demilitarised zone.

hmm, then let it be so. we will begin to move a fleet into Orbit, but it will be 3 years befor it arrives. if you build a fleet to defend yourself in the meantime, we will not have it enter your space. if you do not, we will enter your space. Like we said befor, this is not a request.

The Duke Atredies turned from the military reports and data from the outer reaches of the systems on the view screen in his large Office.
"What about the reports pertaining to the cruisers and fighter escort?" the Duke asked, irritated at this mans assumption that the Destroyers were all they had to worry about.
"Well reports from our allies and other factions indicate that the fighters are slower than usual, and with such a massive escort fleet..."
"Well it will have to do. The new weapons systems?" The Mirians had undergone a massive jump in weapons systems recently, the Trade with Trinity had unlocked doors previously unseen.
"Fully installed and primed for combat"
"Excellant, oh and put out word of a change in fleet name, we are no longer holding the position of Yellow Guardien fleet, the new Yellow Guardians are being built and funds have been diverted to this sector to prepare for it,"
