We are happy to sign the treaty between our nations for continued prosperity and peace between our two nations. We hope this agreement will only be the first of many in what will hopefully be an advantageous for both our countries.
To: Teuton Order

We are saddened to hear that you choose to oppose us and side with Imperialist Egypt who wishes to see all of Europe, including your lands, be turned into a wasteland. We urge you to reconsider this and join with us instead. Oppose us and your lands will be ravaged to such a degree that it will take you decades to recover from it.

Diary of Private Karl Hansen, 23rd entry
My unit arrived at Hedeby early in the morning. Things have been moving faster than I thought possible, but our Father has acted quickly. Within an hour of the Teuton war declaration our division was mustered and ordered to be ready to move out. That was yesterday afternoon. Now we have been quartered at Hedeby after a speedy move from our barracks at Viborg.
Tension and excitement is increasing in camp, not just due to the fact that the border is no more than 35 kilometers away, but also due to the rumours that are flying through the camp. I must say I am impressed with my comrades though. No matter what rumours we hear they react with a shrug of the shoulders and a total lack of worry. Confidence is high and we are waiting eagerly for the orders to move out. Nothing rattles these men who will soon be fighting and dying for our Homeland.
I wish I knew what was going to happen, but I suppose I'll find out soon enough. A delegation from our French and British allies is expected to arrive soon. I expect it's in order to better coordinate what is going to happen. The rumours are amazing. According to the rumours our navy is shelling the Teuton capital of Konigsberg, has engaged their navy near Bornholm and sunk most of it and is covering landings at Stettin, Rostock and Danzig. Word also has it that troops has been despatched to Nordterre and that a probing force is engaged outside Hamburg. I wonder how much of these rumours are true and how much is fabrication.
Even with the nation at war things are eerily silent. It's almost like the Teuton scum is hiding, afraid of us. I don't blame them though. As if it wasn't enough having to deal with us, our allies will make their defeat swift and inevitable. I wonder what has gotten into them. Even if they are honoring their alliance with Egypt it is them who will be dying, not the Egyptians. What aid do they think they will get? Once the Egyptian fleet has been dealt with they will have no way of getting troops to Europe meaning that the only ones to suffer will be the Teutons. I wish I understood international politics, but there is a reason while I'm just a soldier.
Our sergeant has just ordered us to be ready in 10 minutes so I'd better get goind. Hopefully the next entry will be written deep in Teuton territory.
