Strategy Discussion and Guides

Is there any babylonian strategy? (Except the classic luck depedent, hope that noone will build the hanging gardens, the oracle, etc..)

I've done quite a lot of work with Babylon. I'll post a guide later.

Who will paint tactics for Turkey? How to play for them bad starting conditions? Constantinople is often in the hands of the Mongols, and fight with them - bad idea. How to perform a UHV, if not immediately capture of Constantinople? Turkey has no cities with good efficiency in the core region. Which city is better to build? In general, I need a little guide, as I did not get even just stabilize. (Pretty hard to win the war with rivals 3-4 - Byz, Arabia, Egypt, Austria, optional Spain\France\Russia).
Thx4hlp :\

SVN. And 3\4 games - Constatinople is on mongol :(

It shouldn't be like this. Constantinopolis should be Byzantine or at least Indepedent. Mongols should be collapsing...

Choose a city with already 2-4 wonders, build 4th, and move capital there. Remember you can move capital.

It's probably been discussed before, but what are good starting cities for Russia?

Depends, what version?

For SVN Domination, I settle these cities: (this is something I just threw together in Worldbuilder)

Murom, Rostov na Donu, Kiev and Saint Patersburg are founded with the starting settlers. The rest are founded at your leisure. Kiev is settled in order to not have to capture it. This setup gives you six core cities in the end.

Moving on to Siberia:

I've found this set of cities to most properly use the Siberian land. The logic behind the settle pattern should be fairly obvious.

Obviously sometimes a few of these cities, particularly around China and Mongolia, are already taken by other civs. Try to beat them to the punch.

Thanks, although I was actually thinking of (SVN) Historical, so Moscow is a must.

Anyone have a good domination strategy for Britain in the 1700 AD start ? I usually just rush conquer India but get a massive stability hit and that leads to collapse ! What's the alternative path ? I want to control all the regions which were historically part of the British empire in 1905.

What's your city placement in the Isles? Granted I use map edits so it changes things, but I found London, York, Edinburgh, Dublin and Belfast; Belfast late in game to help with stability.

I'd suggest going for Australia (make sure to beat the Dutch to it), and then grab all of Canada (including Quebec) and Southern Africa. If you manage to vassalize Congo or something, you're nearly done.

Vassalize the Aztecs and Incans too!
