Suggestions and requests

Since there're Siam and Indonesia in v1.8 now,I think we should also add Sweden
Sweden is already a Dynamic name of the current Scandinavian Civilization we have now. While I see that isn't really a true representation of modern Sweden, it is still the best way to do it without splitting the current Scandinavian Civ into two, (probably Norway and Sweden I should think) where it would slow the game down significantly in place of a more Historically significant Civilization, e.g. Poland.
and Prussia, they are very important in European history, and I think the German Empire can change to the Holy Roman Empire,I think Prussia is like modern Germany more
Leoreth very much intends to do so in DoC 1.9 I think, where he is focusing on Europe.

The inclusion of this is good, I think because it will give us a more realistic representation of history in that area, plus limit unrealistic German expansion to the south. In fact, we will be only a Poland away from realistic German boarders? ;)

On another note: Would I be wrong in suggesting that there be/will be an Austrian rebirth of the Holy Roman Empire? Or atleast a dynamic name in the later game?

Split Germany into Holy Rome and Prussia, and create a timeline like this:

450AD: Rome should have collapsed, but sometimes they don't.
840: Holy Rome spawns, led by Charles V, at Vienna.
1740: Germany spawns at Berlin, led by Frederick. Holy Rome's leader changes to Maria Theresa, and the country becomes Austria.
1870: Germany is now led by Bismarck, Austria by Franz Josef.

And also include something similar between the current Norse Scandinavian and Sweden.

600AD: Vikings spawn at Oslo, led by Ragnar Lodbrok.
1550: Sweden spawns, led by Gustav V. Vikings become Denmark/Norway, led by Christian IV.

YES. Would be amazing to see how the game pans out in 1.9 with a full on Europe containing UK, Germany, France, Austria, (Poland?), Portugal, Spain, Italy and Greece. Although I seem to be seeing the later two alive in the modern era very rarely in my games recently. (Probably just luck.)

i think Viking and Sweden are two different civs,i think when Sweden appear,Viking should collapse automatically(only AI,just like DoC v1.8,Khmer and Siam)
And Sweden's UHV will show its interest about Russia and Middle Europe

i think the HRE can be called "Holy Roman Empire" in medival era,"Habsburd Empire" in renaissance era and "Austria-Hungary Empire" in industrial era,and its UHV should be also changed

good idea!and i think Metternich(Austria,since 1800) and Adenauer(Germany,since 1950) could also be added

i think Greece(rebirth) isn't so necessary,it wasn't so important in European history since Roma collapsed till now.
and Poland?Poland-Lithuanian is a powerful kingdom in 14th and 15th century.But...how to put it in the east Europe? It will be very crowded...

And I have suggested Leoreth that some colonized-civs,like Brazil,Argentina,Columbia,Mexico,Canada,Australia and South Africa and so on may be added in v1.9.If so,there will be about 40 civs, quite a lot....

There already is a greece in modern times though, isn't there? If Im not mistaken greece will respawn already so long as the owner civilization is unstable. I know it's not really important, but the units and leaderheads are already there so why not? Theres always the chance a new reborn greece will become a world power, however unlikely.

I don't really see it being crowded, as it is mainly there to be lodged between Germany and Russia, creating a Civilization that is a world power in the 14th/15th Century and deteriorates in most cases, but still ever significant because the Player wouldn't want Russia essentially forming an eastern block or Germany starting their expansion. Not to mention that being crowded is one of the many things Europe is reknown for. If the Player wants to play a lesser-crowded Central Europe Civ, he could still pick Spain or arguably France. If he wants to be a Colonial Civ with very little neighboors he can be Portugal/England, and If he wants the crowded Eastern Euro experience then Germany/Poland. More variety in the Civilization your playing's circumstances is always welcome in my book.

Again, all super awesome but detrimental to game speed. I think Leoreth should run an official vote to see just what people prefer. Game Speed or More Civs, because this whole argument is opinion specific really.

The creator of K-mod says he found a way to half the ai turn speed, if this could be implemented here it could help

I think there should be another civ in southern/central africa (Bantu?). In almost every game I play the entire central part of the continent is left blank and uncolonized. IRL there was a lot Belgian colonies here but in RFC there is nothing. Maybe add it to France/Dutch maps? Just saying its kind of a waste of such good land.

:agree:
Although Arabia often gets to the native cities, and England and Netherlands to South Africa.

BTW, RFC Civs in Abundance adds the Zulu. They spawn in the 19th century and have a UA which gives their impis many extra promotins. Their impis have 10:strength: and start with about 5-6 promotions.

I think Zulu may be fit, turns to RSA in 20th century

and I also think central Africa can be added to France/Dutch/Germany maps, since there isn't Belgium in DoC

Zulu in RFC Civs in Abundance is too slow in techs,I think its UP can change to "Gain some techs when captured enemies' city" and impi can be changed to 12 strengthen and +25% with gunpowders and most important, can't be replaced by pikeman

The land the Zulus controlled is around the size of one square and the empire only lasted 80 years, There would be better ways to simulate this. (Perhaps a scramble for Africa event?)

I think a better idea would be based on the Kingdom of Zimbabwe, which could respawn as South Africa if it collapses. It has a historic basis ranging from 11th-18th century, and would act as a buffer to Ethiopia going down and conquering the native cities along the African coast. And they shouldn't grow too powerful because they'd have natives, terrain and colonials to deal with

Did the kingdom ever do anything notable apart than exist in a place with very few civs though? Perhaps if it was a minor civ.

That should definitely be considered, especially as the Euros have absolutely no interest in Africa, except for a couple of English/Dutch cities. Civs like Germany/Italy/France/Portugal/England /Holland should encouraged to fill up the rest of Africa.
