Suggestions and requests

Unfortunately edead already exhausted most speed-up possibilities that have been discovered by the community so far when he made RFC Epic/Marathon, which this modmod is based on. I don't think there's much to gain anymore.

I think you should try to make industrial and modern era faster. The game starts getting really slow after 1700 AD, and because of that, I usually quit my saves

As far as I know, there is unfortunately nothing to do about it - more civs, more units, more going on in the world -> game gets slower. Engine problem more than anything.

Leoreth, I'd like to suggest once again to let artists create 1 or 2:)'s. Great Artists are a nooooooooo-moment practically always, when not going for specific UHVs, and they especially could use a buff of a kind.
Why 2:)'s instead of 1? Let's say we have a city with 8 pop, 2 of them unhappy, so 6 working citizens. If you hire one as an artist, you know have 1 unhappy citizen, 1 artist, and still 6 other working citizens, and the artist then really only made up for his own existance. He's just making himself happy :D So I think 2 makes the most sense. And if you dont approve of that, at least 1 could still be a huge improvement - and I believe it make a lot of sense, one can create :)'s by buying culture via the slider already, so why not by an artist also?

I think that's too powerful, especially in later eras where you can easily hire 3+ artists.

As I said before, it's a good idea to do this for a settled great artist, though, because his +12 culture/turn is completely useless compared to +4000 instantly via great works. Problem is, I'd like to avoid hardcoding this, and I haven't had the time to extend the XML schema for specialists to allow happiness and health.

Please, again, add ocean between Java and Australia
Geographically, it's the correct one.

Yeah, it is.

I've pondered this a little recently and if there's anything to optimize, it's Python and not the DLL. I've already moved war maps there, but that was for something else and I don't know if it really makes a difference.

The only significant mechanic that costs speed is stability, because it calculates quite a lot and scales with the number of active players. Moving it to CvPlayer.cpp might actually give a noticeable speedup, I imagine.

I got this idea that, why not give civilization also a reward when they accomplish 1/3 of their UHV. Reward should be small but it could be unique for each civ. Like defensive unit, unique unit, worker, settler or ship. Preferably something which would help AI if it manages to do something historical.

It could be like unique event for each civ. Maybe some options what will happen, like in new trading company events. If you think it will help human player too much it could be AI only thing.

Examples:
Egypt: War Chariot.
Babylon: Worker.
India: Spearman.
China: Settler.

Later civs could get better rewards:
Dutch: Galleon with settler, musketman and worker.
Turkey: Three Janissary.

I'll support you IF AI exactly know
1) How to use it properly
2) Where should it use

Alas, the current mechanic seems still quite far away as spawning stack of Hoplites in Athens will result Greece as major power in Europe rather than use it to attack Persia~

Not a bad idea. I'll keep that in mind and see if an opportunity presents itself to use it.

Not a 100% true. K-Mod just added a large speed improvement, concerning how AI's make their decisions.

Interesting. I could imagine that the multilateral diplomacy contributes a lot to the late game turn time increase.

Not quite- it's the way the AI moves units: one at a time. When there's hundreds of units in the late game, you can imagine the drawbacks.

It's new so I'm waiting for any side effects before adding it to Synthesis.

Could 1.81 simply be integrating a bunch of his ideas? A number seem quite good like rapid unit cycling.

Sure, but there's no way around that, is it?

Haven't taken a look at it yet.

Apparently there is a way. Karadoc's change makes it so that all units of equal priority are moved within the same game time slice.

Bring back deadly plagues.... :mischief:

Actually won't help that much because the problem only becomes intense when you're close to Medicine anyway.

I just downloaded your mod and...
Why is "Wat Preah Pisnulok",Angkor Wat Buddhist?
I'm sure the Khmer Empire was mostly Hindu under Suryavarman II.
And the Taj Mahal is Hindu?
Shah Jahan built it and he was Islamic.
Could you change it?
For Egypt,Hatshepsut was a far better and greater leader then that worse Cleopatra.
But the timespan between her and Ramesses is not great enough?

How can it be that I have some civilizations (example:Indonesia) not included in my game?
They are just not there.

Okay, starting with the last question: You've downloaded version 1.73, which is the most recent version of my mod that's uploaded on civfanatics. I'm already developing 1.8 for some time, though, and have made my development publicly accessible via SVN, so if you see someone with Indonesia or one of the other additions, they're playing with these inofficial versions. You can get them too, look into the "Current SVN development" thread for instructions.

Some of your comments have in fact already been implemented there. The Khmer are now Hindu (and it's Suryavarman's preferred religion), and I've changed Wat Preah Pisnulok to Hinduism accordingly. Taj Mahal on the other hand was Hindu so that it gets build in India and not somewhere in Turkey. I've now included a Muslim Indian civilization (Delhi Sultanate/Mughals) and changed the Taj Mahal back to Islam.

And you've guessed right for Cleopatra and Hatshepsut; I choose the leaders to represent different eras and Hatshepsut is too close to Ramesses to be worthwhile (you wouldn't see her for long, then).
