Tedious red, white and blue flags

It fails fundamental flag aesthetics due to the dragon in the middle. A flag is supposed to be clear at a distance, and seals and the like don't do that. It's a flag, not a coat of arms.

I think you mean shield, as the a coat of arms consists of many more parts such as retainers and helm etc.

However, the shields were originally designed to be clear at a distance because they identified individuals on a battlefield. I believe the earliest ones were flown as banners.

I love the Welsh Flag, fricken' coolest flag in the world today. I have one hanging in my dorm. :goodjob:

There are many with comparable features.

Lots of flags have or used to have complicated symbols such as seals/coats of arms on them. It's just that the Welsh one is mostly just that and not much else.

I grew up in Wales, and I hated having to draw the god damn dragon as a child. Kill it now.

Red, White, and Black is the way to go.

Okay, that's a rather bold design - whose flag is it?

War Ensign of the German Navy from 1903-1919. Reichskriegsflagge

Second best flag I've ever been blessed to see, the first being Kiribati's current flag.

The House of Orange flag is far superior to the current Dutch one.

OMG, YES!!!! I hate the current Dutch flag. The old one was much more aesthetically pleasing.

Red is a fairly common flag colour because it was initially used as such for its aggressive-like appearance. It's associated with blood, and implies strength.

White is common too, as it's associated with purity. As for blue? It just goes well with red! What other colour works so well with red? Also, blue = water, and most countries have important connections to the sea.
My heraldry is very rusty, but IIRC blue = loyalty / duty.
