Terios

Merchent ghost vessels from Baase are heading to as many powers as possible to ensure trade. While we commence it is in our interest in note that as well as spreading the word of darkness our preachers will also spread a offer: we wish to establish the Colleishdhoo as the most grandest of centres of learning in this world. This is our mission and we wish to open it to all for the requirement to expand our minds. By this we issue the world to set their students to this place to learn the secrets of not only darkness but of history, administration, spiritiual studies, science and other areas that are accessable. Set well and learn well!

Your ships will stay away from our ports and out of waters.

To Aquilus Regina the Marro-ghrussaieaae

while we would like to know how you intercepted the message without us known we would like to clarify that we are only setting up Spheres of Influence that pertain only to the three nations on that continent currently. As such I will have no influence in The Baltik's sphere, however they will have no influence on mine and we can all do what we want with our own spheres, you could still set up a colony, if you wish, we could also add you to the sphere is you wanted, but then you would have to take part in the Congress and be limited to your sphere.

Again to restate myself this treaty only pertains to The Empire, The Baltik, and The Mathalamus Empire, as it states that we cant interfere with any of each other's land that we have set aside to do as each of our individual nations wish without objection to another.

Sorry for this misconception.

To the Emperor of the Empire

Baase is unpleased. We have placed plans to have a port on the continent of the Baltic peoples. You have appeared to ignore this. As for how we came to learn of your message that will be a tale of another time but we advice you this: remember us, for death comes no matter who you are, whether your rich or poor. Consider hence Towl Jiarg.

Consider well our consul.

No. Get off our land.

Jesus, you people are rather intolerant.

the Mathalamus Empire welcomes everyone to the borders, for any reason, so long as its good and not breaking the Empire in some way.

Aw man, completely forgot about this. Right now I really don't have the time to devote to this but in a week I should be able to join in.

If I know anything about Tani's games there should be a couple well off NPCs that I could hopefully step into.

No. Get off our land.

We have just as much as a right to settle on the New Continent as you do! This land isn't just yours. I have seen barbarians that are more willing to negotiate than you! We will not force our people out of their own homes for you!

There are no NPCs this game around but I could just auto-manage you for this turn since you'll be back in a week, so you'll just miss one update.

Sounds good enough. Will be sure to flesh out my nation when I return.

Diplomacy:

These letters were sent by a Bureaucratic Caste Grue to the leader of each nation in the world.

Dear Leaders of Terios,

We of the Grue wish to jovial relations with every nation on the planet. As such cordially invite all nations to open an embassy in Capital City and to begin trade in our ports. We would also like to humbly request to open an embassy in your respective nations as well and to send our airships to trade. Doing this will help relations flow as smoothly as butter, and that would be jolly good!

Sincerely,

00110001,
Chosen of the Scrapyard,
Protector of the Reptfalk,
Emperor of the Mechanical Empire and her Vassals,
King of the Grue.

An additional letter was delivered to the Necromancy of Baase.

Dear Marro-ghrusieaae Aquilus Regina

All of your correspondence has been carefully placed within the Grand Depository of Paperwork so as not to damage your banner. If an accident happens and the banner is damaged in anyway, we will request for you to help us. Jolly good!

We will allow your ghost vessels to dock at our ports and commence trade with us. We will also allow your preachers to freely preach, although we doubt your chaps will be able to convert many of the Grue though, although maybe you will have some luck in the Crazy District, they will believe anything there. We wish for you to know dear lady that this is not an insult on the honour or your nation or religion, we are a very devout nation, except in the Crazy District, which is too complicated to get into. I cannot speak for the Reptfalk however, you may convert a few chaps over there. Right on ma'am, right on!

Unfortunately, the educational systems of the Grue and the Baase are incompatible thus we have to politely decline your offer of establishing a Colleishdhoo within Grue territory. However, if would be kind enough to send a lecturer and some reading material, perhaps your lecturer could instruct some of our Scientific Caste researchers in the ways of necromancy, that would be grand indeed. We will also offer to allow you to open Colleishdhoos on Reptfalk Island and the Northern Colonies, the Reptfalkian scholars would surely be jovial to learn a new school of scientific, or even magical, thought.

We bid you good day ma'am.

Sincerely,

00110001,
Chosen of the Scrapyard,
Protector of the Reptfalk,
Emperor of the Mechanical Empire and her Vassals,
King of the Grue.

An additional letter was sent to the New Supremacy of the Kingdom of Ajar.

Dear King Damas Steigne,

We thank you for your fine invitation of trading. We will respect your wishes for trade and ensure that no armed member of the Military Caste leaves our airships while the said airships are within Ajar territory. We will begin trading immediately. Tally-ho!

We bid you good day sir.

Sincerely,

00110001,
Chosen of the Scrapyard,
Protector of the Reptfalk,
Emperor of the Mechanical Empire and her Vassals,
King of the Grue.

An additional letter was sent to the Empire.

Dear Emperor,

We will respect your claims as we respect all reasonable claims of all nations. We are very pleased that you consider the Grue friends. May the friendship between the Empire and the Grue last until the "Beast that Consumes All" digests us all! Hurrah!

We bid you good day sir.

Sincerely,

00110001,
Chosen of the Scrapyard,
Protector of the Reptfalk,
Emperor of the Mechanical Empire and her Vassals,
King of the Grue.

The Ajah Kingdom would like to express that we take insult at the words of The Empire, for we are considered to be neither on the "new" or "old" continent while in fact we are the first-civilized region on all of Terios! In addition, we are insulted that we are not considered fit for diplomatic action by that very same Empire. And the Empire thrice insults us by leaving us off a list of powerful nations! A 75% tariff is placed on all goods coming from Empire companies and ships.

OOC: No war meant, and I just thought I would stir the pot a little... But really, TE, think about your words before submitting them! Damas is angry... (Maybe offer him a gift to settle his temper? :p)

Glory to Aquilus Regina the Marro-ghrussaieaae of the Necrocracy of Baase, who will lead us with the knowledge of the elder ones to seek the salvation of the necromancer orders and to ensure that death is set in its rightful place in the Great Circle which engulfs all existence!

It is in the interest of the way of the orders of death and of the art of decay that Baasen society learns to face other powers with honest notable aim. We hence inform as many powers as possible that Towl Jiarg will be a port that comes to existence, its purpose for ecomonic notabillity, the recent aggression towards it in the Batlic is questionable. All to die one day so why threat over a single port? We have more interest to expand in our continent: we just want a trade settlement set up on the Baltic's continent to ensure better trade, especilly trade with the Baltic people who would enjoy trade with the undead.

The GMR's reaction to our merchents is questionable. Why would a merchent republic reject traders? Do have to sign a special trade pact? If you fear the word of death then we can let the word be spread by books instead of setting preachers. Books can be bought or not bought by individuals. In the skies we will wish to seek trade. Reconsider and be a trade partner to us.

For the Empire we wish to inform that Towl Jiarg is our only settlement to be on the continent, the surrounding green land we placed on the earlier map is as support influence for both defence of Towl Jiarg and resources. The Empire must know that our sphere is limited only here on the continent in question but that the continent of Macantagh which we are on is which our sphere, as set by our map, is set out in grand motion, all in the note of darkness.

The Grue need know that there is only one place known as the Colleishdhoo. It appears we have not written well, for our interest was to invite your student to visit our den of stuy. Still your invitation has been noted: we may send a lecturer on biology and its domination by death, so that your students can listen to our words on the importance of death's place in biology. Necromancer will also be lectured on. We are glade are open to the idea of necromancer schools on some of your isles. We will in time reach the point of allaince perhapes. For now we learn!

By hence we give our reactions, to be seen publicly by as many as possible. In time we will rise as a power. Death does not care if one is rich or poor, strong or weak, air travelling or land bound, idealistic or cynical, left handed or right handed, plotter or plotted, questioner or answerer and so on. It is in our need to be in good relation. We rise. We hop you all rise with us.

As death we limit not ourselfs!

A space for an Embassy for your nation has already been in reserve for your nation to build and claim.

every major nation has a plot of land reserved, with a beautiful view of the river, for an Embassy.

Also, we accept the trading agreement offered by the King of Grue.

Baase ensures both the Grue and the nation of Mathalamus that they will have the glory of a Baasen embassy.

No; you have no right. Stay on your homeland and we'll stay in our homeland. This continent will do just fine without your interference.

Questions received from an anonymous player; I'm posting them publicly for FAQ purposes.

Does the money I put in for expansion only affect the regions I want, or is my success proportional to how much cash I put in and RP and such? In other words, if I spend X amount on expansion in a given area of land, does that spending simply increase the chances of me getting the region, or does it affect how large of a region I get?

Success in colonisation is dependent ultimately on one's resources; logically paying settlers handsomely, providing for their transport and needs (i.e. a large budget) is going to stimulate expansion more than if you just tell them to go forth and multiply. Roleplay adds a small bonus on top, but no matter how much Malta wants to, it's not going to be able to colonise an area the size of Africa; it just doesn't have the manpower or resources for the task. China or India on the other hand might have a slight shot.

Just to clarify for those who didn't know, you CAN allocate money to expansion to help out.

Also, does RP affect the strength of ships and weaponry and the like? What can RP affect?

Roleplay influences territorial growth to an extent, but also influences the quality of your military and the quality of your various economic sectors (healthcare, education, infrastructure). It can also influence your actual population and economic power to an extent. It will also impact your support rating, for better or worse. When in doubt, don't do anything too dangerous.
Can we have "unique units?"
Within reason, yes. A general rule is go nuts, just please, no unbeatable Death Eggs or anything of the sort. Use your best judgement; if it's going into god-mode territory and you don't have a god-mode economy, it probably isn't a good idea.

Does our army composition matter at all?

For simplicity sake it doesn't matter what your armed forces are actually composed of; it is quantity, quality and war plans (with a bit of luck) that are used to determine victory. As such, beyond division into army and navy, the rest is purely fluff.

I am sorry, but I am not sure if we have had diplomatic contact before this. We are a very young nation after all, and you must realize that we have only known about the two continents before now. As such we didn't know about you or your continent until very recently and as such we wouldn't have been able to send something to do, also we sent the information of expansion to those who we thought would be relevant and thus those that are on our own continent, those near by both continents, and finally the barbarians on the New continent that refuse to negotiate. Finally the names are just shortened versions of their true names, The Old Home and the New Home, and we have no name for your content so far, but for now we shall call your continent The Ajah.

We are sorry that this has misconception has caused a rift in our nations so early in our diplomatic relationship but we hope that this makes up for it.

In light of plans in creation of Towl Jiarg the settlers to be are to be summoned outside of Cheerfuill at a set up fair to seek meeting on administration for the settlement to be. The meeting will involve the election of the mayor of Towl Jiarg, the Jiarg family declaring this as a means of allowing the colony a voice in Baasen administration. The Jiarg family has denied cliams that they are plotting to bribe political opposition and play with the results so that Ardveoir Jiarg would win the election for the Jiarg created colony. Eonnory Meoir is to stand as the main rival to the Jiarg canidate.

Embassy and trade for all! Your diplomats can feel free to take up residence in one of the doge's country villas until such time a proper embassy can be constructed.

You are an abomination, and your traders are an affront to nature and her laws. The Patriarch of Bera has threaten any GMR merchant that does business with the necrophilliacs with excommunication. Repent and throw yourself upon the purging flame of the One True Flame. The embargo of trade with the abominations has been approved by two out of the three doges, with the third currently too bedridden to perform his duties for some time, as well as the Council of Merchants and, remarkably, the most of the Lesser City Councils.

This is not up for discussion.
