So Twentieth Century Fox cancelled another good SciFi show.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/07/arts/television/fox-ends-sci-fi-show-about-time-travel.html

One of the television season’s most ambitious new series, the science-fiction drama “Terra Nova,” got word this week that it would have no future on Fox, but the studio that produces it has begun intensive efforts to find another network willing to run the show.

So do you think SyFy or some other network will pick up the show?

It was a terrible show and should be gone. I did see it, partly out of attempted loyalty to the scifi genre, partly because it had no competition on broadcast TV to watch instead. But it was a really bad show. And does not deserve to be renewed.

Never watched it, special effects looked cheap and the acting looked amateurish.

You're better off watching Falling Skies if you want to get your scifi fix. At least that show is somewhat halfway decent.

Wow, I just read an article about a week ago that said Terra Nova was safe from this round of cancellations.

:bump:

Sorry for bumping such an old thread, but I had to speak up in defense of this show. I've just been watching it on Netflix tonight, and I think it was pretty good. The premise was intriguing, the characters interesting and likeable (except the creep running the bar), and I enjoy the music.

What a shame it got canceled, and also that there were no tie-in novels published.

I think the show began devolving into a drama which highly detracted from the sci-fi plot. That is why I didn't like it towards the end anyway.

A real travesty is how a show like FlashForward was cancelled. Ugh...

I've watched up to the point where Taylor tells Shannon about his son, why he killed his former commanding officer, and the true purpose of Terra Nova. The SF elements still seem fully intact.

There's nothing wrong with "drama." All plot and no character development makes a lousy TV series.

Saw this bump and thought "Huh, wasn't that cancelled years ago ? ".
The series was disapppointing, but had an interesting premise.I'd say that it was neither really good, nor genuiniely bad all things considered. It's certainly better than other shows that got a second season like Revolution or Sleepy Hollow (although that one is really hillarious, except when it tries to be funny).

As I mentioned, I just found it on Canadian Netflix, among my recommendations. I'm caught up with the 100 TV show, so thought I'd try this one out. I was hooked immediately.

That was such a cute little baby ankylosaurus!

How do you kill this thread with a dinosaur?

I wonder if anyone will try a TV Star Trek. Is JJ Abrams doing a second sequel?

I remember watching a few episodes of this. The acting was... typical, for a scifi show. You don't always get top-notch talent for scifi so I try not to hold that too strongly against the series. I remember thinking they were doing a lot of world-building with their first season and relatively less plot resolution, maybe if they upped the ante a bit they could have made renewal.

About the only two head-scratchers I can think of are these:

1. Where was Zoe taken after the family got caught with one extra kid?

2. How was Skye able to hide the fact that her mother wasn't dead - as in who is really buried in her grave? Or is it empty?
