The Democratic Caliphate.

I forgot that there is another Shang Tsung. I'm used to his younger version.

Well, now we have a clash of monstrous titans!

And the penguins will proclaim, "Allahu Akbar!"

I'm dying here. :lol:

Abd al-Rashid Muhammad
Zanzibar!

Do you remember that Zanj? I was digging our history and I got into this, made me laugh a bit about the penguins, and made me wonder about that vote and your role now. It could have been far different if it wasn't Zanzibar which got colonized. And also we have to thank these 2 for this too:

Zanzibar.

Abd al-Rashid Muhammad

Zanzibar!

Ulema citis and Dar al-Majhool.

This game is really becoming history :goodjob:.

Still new for me :p

This story still was a a voting IAAR, I hadn't a clue it would bring me to became Dar al-Zanj. :D

Here are the compiled orders developed on the Council of 1309. The new term has already started, so expect some story updates soon. I came back from my partial hiatus already, so I believe I'll be able to play some turns until the beginning of next week.

Majlis ash-Shura said:
Dar al Arab
Makkah
Move the oasis 1N1E of Makkah's citizen that is working it to the tile with 7 commerce above it.
Add a bank to the queue, and a crossbowman to defend the city afterwards.

Sana'a
Add a grocer to the queue and a crossbowman to send to the new army of Africa. You can remove the research from the queue.
Once our city grows, the tiles I wish to be worked are the tiles with the most to least commerce. Do not change any currently worked tiles as of now.
Do what you deem best with the workers

Dar al-Zanj
Zanzibar: Islamic Monastery > Castle > Bank (Always whip, Pop Threshold 5)
Micromanaging IN ORDER (I Don't know if I make it right): Fish>Lake 1E>Lake 1SE>Mine 2N>Mine 1SE 1E>Lake 1SE 1S>Farm>Mine 2S>Sea 1NW>Spy>Spy
The Axeman will continue defend the workers.
The Pikeman will go 2N of his current position: a strategic tile, were he can get in all other near tiles to defend when in need.
The workers move and work always togheter.

Dar al-Iraq
Babil - After we've finished building the mosque queue a wall then castle and after that grocer and bank. Whip wherever possible without any regard to population limits.

Ninawa - Builds castle, then market, then grocer, and finally a bank. Whip where possible without regards to population limits.

Gwadar - Builds longbow, then wall, then lighthouse, courthouse and after that a madrasa.

worker orders - Build windmills on all hill tiles within Ninawa's BFC. After the cultural expansion of Gwadar build a road linking Babil to Gwadar.

Dar al-Anadol
Constantinople - Add grocer and bank before wealth in the queue

Anqarah - Complete the Aqueduct then build a grocer then a bank

Workers
The workers are free for anyone to use after they build a cottage 1SE1E.

Dar al-Abyssinia
Aksum- Build a crossbowman then a forge then a harbor, focus on food

Maqadishu- Build a crossbowman then a forge then a lighthouse, focus on food

I can see there is a spot open for a watermill near Mogadishu, so that would be what I would want there. I can't really see anything else so I suppose if there are hills then build a mine, if there's an open spot by a river build a farm, if that isn't possible, build a watermill, if that isn't possible, build a cottage. Any open resources are to be prioritized (if there is a resource that is under a cottage or whatever then tell me so I can make a decision)

Khalifat al-Mu'mineem & Nidham al-Adl
Focus espionage on Cordoba so we may steal Astronomy as soon as possible after they research it.

Dar Misr
Micromanaging

Abu-Simbel will remain exactly as it is again:
Population priorities from top to bottom:
3 pops working flood plains cottages (whichever gives more comes first in priority)
2 pops will be priest specialists
1 pop will work the western mine
No growth/decay policies for the city, stagnate at 6 until improvements can bring in more food.
The Forge is being done and it should take more then 1 council to complete it. I want to add a Madrassa after it in the build queue.

Al-Uqsur
Pop priority:
1N>2N1W>1N1W>2N>2S1E>1S1E>1W>1N1E>1Priest
City should whip whenever it's past 6 pop and the whip is worth it.
Complete the last Camel Archer and then add in order: Walls - Castle - Forge - Islamic Monastery.

Al-Iskandariya
Population priority:
2N1W=1N2E>1E>1N1W>1S>Priests>2N=1N=1N1E=2N1E>1S1W> 2E>1W
Population shouldn't go below 6
Complete Bombard with a whip on the next turn. Then add an Islamic Monastery to the queue, pass the turn twice and then whip again. Add a courthouse to the queue, pass the turn once and whip again. From now only whip again if the population won't go below 6. After the courthouse is done, add the following items in order to the queue: Castle - Lighthouse - Bank

Tell-Hisn
Pop priority:
1N1W=2N1W>1N=1N1E=1E=1S1E>Priests
The city shouldn't go below 6. Whip whenever possible.
When it gets to 7 pop whip for the next queued item. Complete the Camel Archer first then add in order: Walls - Castle - Islamic Monastery - Bank

Workers
My Workers will help connecting Abyssinia to the rest of the Caliphate and improve its land however Dar al-Abyssinia wishes so. They are being lent for now while I think improving Abyssinia is more important then continue working on Misr.

Troops
1 Camel Archer will protect my workers wherever they go.

Dar ash-Sham
Al-Quds:
Continue working all current tiles. After every pop growth assign the new population in this order: plains hill Mine 1 East > Coast 1 north of Fish, currently under control of As-Sur > river plains farm currently under control of As-Sur > Spy > Scientist(s)
Continue with the current schedule and add a Bank if there is still time in this term, no whipping outside of emergencies

As-Sur:
Continue working all current tiles until they are taken over by Al-Quds. After every pop growth of tile steal by Al-Quds assign the new population in this order: Plains hill mine 1 north > Scientists > Spies > Merchants
Remove the Heavy Swordsman from the queue, after the Lighthouse build an Islamic Monastery followed by a Grocer
3 pop whip the Grocer as soon as it has enough hammers in it.

Rabd al-Handaq:
Work the Wine and Coast, continue with current schedule and whip everything as soon as possible. Should the Forge and Courthouse be finished within this term which I doubt build a Monastery followed by a Temple, both of the one true faith of course.

Everything looks fine improvement wise so I'm willing to part with my workers and borrow them to whoever wants them until further notice. The details of this will be negotiated during the second half of the council.

All military land units will remain where they are unless we get attacked by a serious threat.
The Trireme will guard my Fish. If nobody needs my galley it will stay in Handaq.

Dar al-Yu'Qataan
All cities complete current queue first, then:
Three Musketmen.
Walls.
Castle.

Aljysh Ifryqya
Counselors additions:
Dar Misr shared 4 Camel Archers, 1 Swordsman and 1 Axeman to the army;
Dar al-Zanj shared 1 Camel Archer to the army;
Dar al Arab shared 1 (to be trained) Crossbowman to the army;

- Burn Moyale
- Conquer Persepolis
- Dar ash-Sham's Budget Plan

Excellent!

Can't wait! :D

I was busy these last days but I'm finally playing the game right now. I'll setup the Council's orders to pass the turn and save the game. Then I'll work on the XML to finally edit the name of the stuff out there.

So, while I enforce the orders, I would like to open a sort of poll here: What should be our name? We are currently called Abbasid Caliphate, which is completely awkward to our own history. Anyone can come with ideas here.

Also, we could start a brainstorm for names of other surrounding nations.

I have played the first turn and it was already full of action. The following Counselors are asked to go to the Shura explain some details needed for the new stuff:

- Dar al-Iraq;
- Dar al-Abyssinia;
- Dar al Arab;
- Dar al-Anadol.

For now I adopted 'The Caliphate' as our name, and I've changed some code regarding France and England to have Sultanates (Sultanate d'Arbouna and English Sultanate). Any ideas on this are appreciated.

It is the 4th day of the month of Muharram, the year 712. Today, will be remembered in my family and in countless Persian families who have waited so long for this day to come. I still remember my grandmother's words, "Promise me, that my grandchildren will break bread at Takht-i-Jamshid." Twenty two years had passed since we had liberated Gwadar from the hands of the Turkish usurpers. Now, twenty two years later, we stand in Takht-i-Jamshid, glorious in our victory.

When I first wrote in my journal of the liberation of Gwadar, I was a commander of the mujahideen of Dar Al-Iraq, but now, I write as the governor of Dar Al-Iraq. My esteemed brother Hormazd Khodadad passed away two years before, now the reins of Dar al-iraq passed from my brother to my hands.

The taking of Takht-i-Jamshid was no easy task, the city had been besieged for many years by a Christian army, they would be the last of the foreign usurpers on our land. The mujahid of Iraq and Misr was stationed at Gwadar, it was decided by the Shura, that it was best that we bide our time before liberating the city. The defenders stood resiliently against the constant bombardment of the Christian army and it was hoped that both would weaken one another easing our way to conquest.

My brother, was not one to accept refusal. He wished to hasten the attack on Takht-i-Jamshid immediately. I was curious about his haste, "Brother, why do you wish to hasten the attack ? Gwadar is yet to be pacified, we are still plagued by insurrectionists around Gwadar, while the Caliphate as a whole is still reeling from the Turkish rebellion. Is not patience the better virtue?" his reply had revealed the truth behind his haste,
"Brother… I am dying." he said, "At Gwadar, an insurrectionist had struck my abdomen with a poisoned arrow. The hakims had cured my immediate ailment, but the poison could not be entirely extracted from my body. Since the last 3 years, I have been dying a slow death.. Avetis.. my brother, I wish to fulfill our promise.. but I fear I cannot."

I remember clearly then, that tears ran down his eyes and his voice broke as he said those last words. It dawned on me, that he would give over the rule of Al-Iraq to me before he would die. Several years passed after my brother's death, we had not moved on the infidels who held Takht-i-Jamshid. Every day that passed, I felt the pinch of the burden of the unfulfilled promise. A rage ran through me, but my mind overcame my emotions. I conceded that I must wait.

When we did pounce upon the enemy, we were ready. I coordinated our efforts with the commander of the mujahid of Misr, The army of Al-Iraq would surround the city from the East and the army of Misr would surround the city from the West. The attack would start at the fleeting hours of the dawn when the garrison would be most unsuspecting. The Turks wary of the Christian forces to their South West were not expecting an attack from the East. The plan to deceive the enemy by delaying the attack had worked, the enemy was complacent.

When the attack came, the invaders were caught off guard. Our spies under the guidance of the wise Al-Nidham had infiltrated the city's defenses. When the signal was given, the gates of Takht-i-Jamshid were opened for us. Our troops walked in unnoticed, and with the same stealth we went from barrack to barrack attacking the foreign troops. It was a victory through subterfuge and deception, but Persia was now fully liberated.

When the sun arose, I sank to my knees and offered my thanks to Allah. We gave namaz in the sacred soil of Persia, Allah be praised ! Persia is free .. the promise is fulfilled.

Incredible! After so much time, we finally managed to take Persia to the Caliphate. The Caliphate sees no limits :cool:

To imagine the first time Dar al-Iraq mentioned taking Persia was on the eve of the Seljuq invasion, and only now after the Ottomans have been dealt with, that we finally managed to conquer that land, it's an epic tale already.

Council of 1066 said:
Dar al-Iraq and Dar ash-Sham are in agreement to join forces against the Seljuqs. Let's take the war to then, instead of letting them roam our land pillaging anything and threatening our integrity. This is our proposal to the Council today.
Spoiler :
This is my interpretation of this post (go light on me, I'm no writer :p):

I and Imp.Knoedel are in agreement with sharing each other's tile and combining our armies to attack Persia.

@adhiraj, if you ever want to use these info to make additions to your sidestories, you may interpret my entry on the council of 1066 as it was written by the one responsible for archiving what has happened in the council, which may not exactly match what was truly said by the counselors. This could be the compiled written version of your ancestor's speech.
