Bad news, the stand alone FfH game is dead. The first post contains some of the details. Today is my day to sulk, tomorrow I start up on something else.

It's pretty sad to hear this - and reading your first post, it sounded like you guys had a very solid idea and vision. Too bad it didn't work out, but I'm glad that you are taking it in stride and at least got something out of the whole experience.

    Cheers, LT.

So sorry to hear that. More evidence that the games industry is just that, an industry that tends to sacrifice creativity for safe profit. Sounds like you're keeping a good attitude about it, and you still own your design, so it's not all bad news.

And, of course, if you do decide to go ahead with this project, you know you always have a fiercely loyal fan base ready to help with funding, ideas, and bug-testing! Can't wait to see what you do next.

Sorry to hear that the new game has been shelved, but I'm glad that, in all, it was a positive experience.

I'm looking forward to your future endeavors! =)

From the few lementss you giv, I think I would have bought it in a blink.

IMHO, this project shall become a stuff of legend and endless speculation.

Sorry to hear this didn't work out, Kael, but it was undoubtedly a learning experience, if nothing else. And of course it's better to have tried than not, so you don't have to wonder "what if?"

I am extremely sorry to hear that; I was looking forward to it. :(

Will we ever hear what it would have been, or no?

Woops, I see it was announced in the first post. Sorry, threads are blocked at my college :)wallbash:) so I'm having to use a translator site and can't edit posts.

For some reason, the newreply page is unblocked.

Anyway: So the idea was still fairly similar to the original one? Damn, now I'm even more disappointed, was looking forward to a good Tactics game.

This was one of the most anticipated PC games out there. I can't imagine it really being a bad investment. I wonder if Elemental's failure gave the investors cold feet.

It is really sad to hear that :(
It could be a great game, IMHO - maybe it will work another day.

But, as You have said in the first post - there are also good things in it for you - experience, design, etc.
And there is at least one good thing for me and the rest of community) - Your mods :)
I was waiting for Civ 5 rather patiently... till now. Now, I'm waiting impatiently

Someone speculated earlier that FhH would be a Civ 5 expansion. That would be an absolute slam dunk for Firaxis in my opinion. I will be dissapointed if that doesn't happen.

I wonder what was the expected budget? Is it possible to have an idea about this? Either in money or estimated amount of work (x engineer-months, y artist-months, ...)

I also wonder what you ment by FfH Tactics? The description makes me think of something like Fantasy General, or Battle for Wesnoth.

Honestly, the description sounds like Final Fantasy Tactics. Control characters in tactical battles, level them up, get better gear between battles, etc.

Oh, I was hoping for a 'happy' ending here. I'm very glad that Kael has positive thoughts about the time spent, though.

    Best wishes,
