There are 15 neses with 1 more about to start soon and in sign up stage. There are numerous other threads going. There are heaps of new people coming in every so often and for the most in the last year or so, most of them have stayed.
The question is, Why would anyone wish to move the Nes forum when its going through a golden era which proves after more than a year of civ4 that its not a requirement at the CURRENT date to move the forum at all.
Why fix something that is not be any means broken?

That is because of the sheer amount of new people that have turned up. Nothing more but that.
And that's why you need to teach them. Not saying you haven't tried, but you can't really complain if the level of play goes down with new players if you don't bother to try and teach them.

Teaching is a great way to integrate us new folk. Building a relationship with one of the more experienced players adds a lot to the game. When I played a few years ago and could talk about strategy with other NESers it made me feel like a part of the community.

Anyway, moving the forum, I do not think is really for any explicit purpose, other than neatness. Although moving might get us more people; (even more than currently), the value of such can be argued both ways. (I personally beleive that even more peoples is a good thing but thats my view)
Its just its place in this forum (Civ3 stories), I find it....grating. Regardless, the way that this forum has operated over the years has changed, and it has a new focus, I just think that it should change with this. (I am a NES liberal!)

Before people get gungho about moving for new members, out of curiosity, how many people are currently NESing, how many newbs come through and stick it out for any length of time? Does anyone have any idea about these numbers?

anyway, turner, your thoughts on moving the forum? Or are you just going to sit there and be supportive of any decision that we come up with (barring, taking over the forum and other related decisions).
EDIT: For Turner I believe was being pedantic And I will refrain from a huge discussion how I would be questioning in a discursive manner...*sigh* see, if I made a new post, this would already be spam.

Keep in mind, the final decision is Thunderfalls. Of course, he can't stop you from moving it offsite...

Sorry, man, I thought we were playing around. Believe me, I know the difference (usually, at least) when someone's playing around and when it's serious. It was a light hearted tone to the thread, in fact I started it. I'd be an ass to lead you into saying something and then busting you for it, wouldn't I?

i mean the more experienced players just tell of the new guys and say "ooh thats so out of char dude you suck noobersrssr i will pwn you rolf ah ah" only more elequently and with correctly spelling
