unpossible. What sort of 'merkin would set his video game forum persona's location to Ottowa willingly?

Trust me, this guy's a fink.
Interesting word choice.

My favorite Canadian: Joni Mitchell.

A movie was made of his novel Never Cry Wolf.

Authors... Margaret Atwood and Pierre Berton!

BTW, if you're into Egyptian historical fiction, Pauline Gedge is EXCELLENT! :egypt:

One of my all the favourite sci-fi novel, Oryx and Crake, was written by Margaret Atwood. I should read the sequel already, I own it..

She writes some damn good essays, too, as well as novels. I've been working on a fanfic crossover between The Handmaid's Tale and Sliders (it was my NaNoWriMo project two years ago - I didn't finish, but got a decent start and decided it was worth seeing through to the end).

Ehm, all this Poland Canada spam is nice, but how's the yeti doing?

I was just checking out the map, and I see that my marker isn't at the coordinates that I thought I submitted. Perhaps I submitted the wrong coordinates, or perhaps there's a parsing error?

It's off by a couple of miles. Here are the google coords of where I see the marker:
40.6507N, -73.9722

Here are the coordinates I thought I submitted:
40.74989N, -73.93686

Not at all a big deal, but perhaps a glitch? :dunno:

Any updates warpus? :)

I was going to take the photo next weekend, because I'm heading to an event where I'd get a lot of good photo opportunities (I think), but... I took a photo at another event a couple days ago that I quite like, so we're almost ready to go.

Just need to write something silly in the notebook. That thing is thick! If the yeti ends up taking peyote and going on a spiritual journey, and ends up writing a story 10 pages long, that'd be cool.. right? :p

Valka, PM me your address. I will mail this thing sometime next week.

Warpus, please check your PMs - I think I already did give you my current address a few weeks back.

And don't break the sound barrier on my account. I still need to get a camera - the only kinds I have now are the ones they don't make film for anymore.

Oh, and it's snowing again...

Ahh my bad. I suck at keeping track of that stuff sometimes.

Maybe I should bring the yeti along for a second adventure then? I'm not sure. I think I might as well just mail it next week. I will keep y'all updated

edit: yep, I have your address! I wonder what else I have that I don't know about because I forgot

Remember you still have the Yeti;)

I'm excited!

Subscription post. Somehow I didn't have one before, and I can't miss out on this thread!

I like the Yeti effect on the map. Looking forward to seeing it in Alberta!

If you can't borrow a camera, I'd suggest picking up a disposable one. You can probably get your prints on CD for less than what you'll pay for shipping the Yeti along.

I wasn't talking about a Polaroid...

I mean my old Kodak Instamatic. It took beautiful pictures. I got it back in 1977, for graduating junior high.

Hey everyone

I'm following up with my initial plan, meaning the Yeti is going out asap next week, monday or tuesday

Like, for sure

I'm taking it somewhere special, as per my initial plan, which I wasn't gonna go through with since I already have a decent pic.. but.. I got busy with life and I'm going there anyway, so it's coming with me for the weekend

Okay guys, here's my photo:

pbHMgm9.jpg

I took the Yeti to a (sort of unscheduled) Blue Jays game and then a Toronto FC vs New York Thierry Henry's (err Red Bulls) game at BMO Field. The BMO Field photos turned out a lot better, due to all the light, so this is the pic I'm going with. Finally!

I am in the process of writing stuff into the notepad and will mail this thing out to Valka tomorrow, as promised.

The site's been updated, but yeah, I need to make some changes & fixes to it:

- Make the map work properly in some versions of explorer
- Link the photos to the map and vice versa maybe
- I really want the path the yeti's travelled to turn green, I need to do that

I am generally a lazy and/or busy guy, but I will post some of the other photos I took here later. For now I got other stuff to worry about

edit: Oh yeah, and if everyone can submit the photo in a 1200x900 resolution, that would be the best. Not necessary, but it makes things easier. If it's bigger, don't worry about it, but if it's smaller.. well... try not to make it smaller :p And if the resolution is different in terms of height/width ratio.. actually you know what? Just submit whatever, I will work it out

I will have to update the site manually when each photo comes in, it's not automated it, but it's really easy so I don't mind.

Is this Canadian Field Hockey? I'm only familiar with the Ice Hockey version. Very similar, it seems, but with less grass - and a much smaller playing field.

Looks like a soccer game to me.
