The "I Got A New Game!" Thread

I just purchased Mass Effect 2...

I enjoyed the first one and completed it (was a gift from Kan), so I figured why not ;).

Because that's GOVERNMENT MONEY and you're NOT ALLOWED to HAVE FUN

How much of the DLC did you get? Also, did you get it new?

I've gotten the standard edition via steam. In terms of DLCs, haven't gotten any yet.

Well, this isn't exactly me getting a new game, but I have an unboxed copy of Starcraft 2: Collector's Edition in its original shrinkwrap, and I'm contemplating on whether to open it up and play, or to sell it in a few years. I've had it since August, and have not even really touched it yet.

I got fallout new vegas that I will probibly start to play soon it looks good and they claim to have fixed it with patches.

I finished Bioshock. It's good. It's really long tho, took 2 months to finish. I don't see why it's thought of as a scary game. The sorta scary part only lasts for the first few levels imho until you learn.

Trying Dead Space 2 now.

Heroes In The Sky

I've uninstalled it.

Combining the completely random crashing, plus the necessitating of an antivirus/gaming utility tool entirely seperate from the game that was 175mb, and reporting malware where malwarebytes didn't see anything... that really turned me away. The gameplay was good, but the charm wore off soon and I was very uneasy about that nProtect Gameguard Personal 2007 utility that the game demanded. I googled it to verify it was legit and everything before I installed it, but I didn't see any real discussion of it like I would have with Malwarebytes, Kapersky, Norton, AVG, Game Booster, etc...

And it detecting something that Malwarebytes + MSE never saw made me very suspcious, like I said. Maybe it's a fake AV that just wanted me to buy the full version. Whatever.

NEW GAME: HOI 3

Just bought M2TW on Steam for 10 bucks, with Kingdoms, so I hope I enjoy it. Rome was fun and I didn't want to shell out 30 bucks for Empire.

Meh, it's aight. Get SS, BC, or TFA or another good mod or you're going to get bored really quickly.

I hope SS and the other mods work with the Steam version, I think there were problems with some mods and the Steam version of the game. Its a good game though, I'm quite often tempted to reinstall it.

Don't buy Empire by itself, you can pick up the Empire Gold Edition which includes Napoleon and all the DLC for $29.99 in stores, and since both games are ~20 gigs you want the DVDs.

SS works fine because of the mod switcher in Kingdoms

BC does not work as well but is still functional
