The "I Got A New Game!" Thread

You will be able to buy up to approximately 60 PC games with $300 (assuming you don't have to pay any fees or taxes). Not all at once, but just wait for the sales.

Though a PS3 is cool too, it does have Uncharted, but the games are much more expensive.

I don't know how many games I will/can get for $5. I will try and find games on sale, but I don't imagine getting more than 25 from it. Will summer sales have started by the end of June?

Thats why I said up to 60. I don't know when any major sales start, but I also don't recommend buying 20+ games at once lest you enter the backlog of steam games I bought on sale and haven't played yet and its a year later syndrome.

25 games from $5? Are you smoking some serious pot?

No, and what do you mean?

Also just bought Magicka: Complete, though I don't have time to play for at least 2 weeks.

Yes, yes they are. Well at least during th e holiday sale. While you probably won't get 60 games for $5 each you will probably be able to get 25 games for $300 from Steam, GamersGate, Good Old Games, Humble Bundle Indie packs and Impulse.

As far as I'm aware, 25 games for $5 is the same thing as 25 games from $5. At least, if we're not being picky and going through grammar with a fine toothed comb that is.

I realize that now, but you should have been able to figure out what I meant from the rest of the messages.

I'll do co-op with you scamp whenever you get a chance.

It sounded like you wanted to get 25 games for $5, if you re-read it you'd realise where the confusion came from. I now realise you wanted 25 INDIVIDUAL games for around $5 EACH, but that is not what became immediately apparent.

Okay, I see. Let's just forget it.

Couple of days ago, bought the potato sack.

Comments on the games I've played so far:
1. The wonderful End of the world - You eat stuff, and get bigger, then eat more stuff, and repeat. Very short, but thoroughly enjoyable.
2. AAAAAA Reckless Disregard for Gravity - Jump off high buildings, dodge skysrapers etc. Incredible fun, about as good as the real thing I would suspect. :p
3. The Ball - You are paired up with a big Ball and use it to solve problems. The problem solving is kinda Portal-esqe in style, which I love. The being chased around by monsters is not so Portal-esqe, and is pretty scary.
4. Defense Grid - Basic tower defense, but it feels highly polished. Good fun, but haven't played it too much yet.
5. Killing Floor - Again, haven't had much chance to play this one yet, but it seems to be interesting enough.
6. AudioSurf - IMO, the best "game" in the pack, and one of the most enjoyable "games" I've ever played. However, I wouldn't view it as a "game", I'd look at it as a way to enhance listening to music. Just load up a song you like, and you're off. I've been playing through a selection of songs I like, and its just been tremendous.
7. Super Meat Boy - First off, fantastic presentation. Everything about this game makes me want to love it... except that I ********** HATE IT!!! The most irritating experience of my life, but not one to miss.

There are 6 other games I haven't gotten a chance to play yet (well, 5 actually. I set out to play Amnesia last night, but thought better of it after 10 minutes.) Anyway, I've been really impressed with the games I've played so far. Worth picking up before the sale ends.

I got Magicka and Super Meat Boy. I love Magicka it's awesome.

About Super Meat Boy, I hear you tycoonist, AARGH. Well, I'm doing okay, it's just... You always know what you have to do, and most of the time, I succeed at going past the obstacles, it seems half of my death are trying to "land" after I got past all the saws and missiles and whatnot. Like "oh oh crap oh s*** ooooh YEAH! I MADE IT!!! no wait I just fell of that last platform that was really benign to land on because my little guy runs really fast and is way too responsive to the tiniest press of a button". Yeah, you end up landing then jumping left, right left right, trying to, you know, just STOP moving, but everything you do just makes you almost fall off.

It's quite fun for awhile, but after playing for 7 or so hours it gets too repetitive to be fun. (did you get Venice with it?)

:( I want to try out the multiplayer.

I played for about a month, with many hours per day. The campaign is great !
(not talking about Venice)
