The "I Got A New Game!" Thread

I just got Kerbal Space Program.

Yeah! It's a lot of fun but glitchy as hell (understandable as it's only version .17 - point 17).

It just sucks when the game crashes in the middle of a launch or tricky orbital manuever.

Mine's been super stable since ever

Mac ftw

Done anything/gone anywhere cool? Do you use any mods?

I'm working on a Munar rocket. The only kink in the design is that the liquid boosters collide with the core stage and damage it. I've got to get the seperation worked out.

But even with that trouble, I still got into orbit with enough fuel for a Munar landing (and return if my burns are efficient) with a whole stage missing.

I am probably going to get mechjab to automate some of the flying, but I want to master basic orbital maneuvers like rendevouz and Hohmann transfers first.

So basically after I get to the Mun and back and launch/visit a space station, I'll get MechJab.

I got the new LEGO Lord of the Rings game. I'm sort-of impressed, although the DS 3D graphics aren't the greatest. At least combat in a LEGO game now has 2-3 buttons. :)

Struts are your best friend.
I am using struts with the compression/pneumatic decouplers (looks like a flat plate). They failed to push the tanks far enough away.

I haven't had a chance to do analysis and redesign on it - especially since the lander made it to orbit with enough fuel for a munar inection burn and possibly a landing. So I'm gonna try and complete the mission then fix the rocket.

Sepatrons are also your friend.

(Re)purchased Morrowind because all the talk around here about the storyline made me decide to finally do the main quest. Probably my most played game ever, yet never did the main quest and finished less than half of the factions. Too much to do in that game, knowing myself I will get sidetracked and leave it half finished again.

If you already own a game you don't need to buy it on another system or if you lost the disk. You should return it if that's possible.

Got MusicRacer (basically a more visually-immersive Audiosurf, based on YT vids I've seen, and free) as well as Trine 2.

I got Pokemon Conquest the other day. It's extremely fun but the main campaign is short. There's a really big post-game which actually eventually includes a second main campaign (as the first is essentially a tutorial), but it just seems too large and repetitive, but that would be less of a problem if I was able to actually use my freakin Glaceon. Conquest actually made Glaceon my favorite Pokemon, and then cruelly took it away two story battles after I finally got it.

Just got the one-two punch of Crusader Kings II and XCOM, both of which are fine games. :D

I've really wanted to get Pokemon Conquest. So you would recommend it? Would you buy it again?

I would buy it on a boat!
And I would buy it with a goat!
And I would buy it in the rain!
And in the dark! And on a train!
And in a car! And in a tree!
It is so good, so good, you see!

It's based off a game called Nobunaga's Ambition (kinda like Fire Emblem) except in the Pokemon universe. It looks pretty banging.

It's an isometric top-down TBS. Set in the Ransei region of Fantasy Feudal Japanland, the object of the game is to conquer the 17 kingdoms (essentially levels but with shops and stuff). Each one is home to a particular element. In battles (which are by far the main focus of the game), each side has up to 6 Pokemon with one move each (to keep it simple). Instead of experience, Pokemon get Link with their warrior (trainers you control), and the maximum Link a mon can have depends on what kind of types the warrior specializes in or if they have a perfect link (destined to be together and such). For example, the only Pokemon your warrior (at the start of the game) can have a perfect, 100% link with is Eevee, until an event happens a short ways through the game letting you have perfect links with all seven Eeveeloutions. The higher the link, the higher the stats, and most pokemon only evolve when one of their stats is high enough, so high max links are very important. Warriors can own an average of 5 Pokemon, but you probably won't even need two, so there's a lot of room to mess around.

It's pretty clever and all-around fun. It isn't all that difficult after you get your stride, but you can say that about any Pokemon game until you reach the end of the postgame, and Conquest has a big one.

I've recently picked up XCOM: Enemy Unknown and F1 2012 from Steam Sales. Both are enjoyable, but it's finals season so I can't play a ton. :p

I also got Dota2, but that's a timesink of a whole new scale. :o
