Ah. That makes sense actually. Sorry for not properly reading it. To add to the answer, I think Mexican law enforcement tends to be seen as less adequate and more easily corrupted.

The UK doesn't extradite people to America if they might face the death penalty either.

I agree they will give him to the aliens

Why exactly is Monsanto evil? All I can find info about is the lawsuits and the terminator seeds. Both of which just seem stupid, but not evil.

In 1971, the US government filed suit against Monsanto over the safety of its original product, saccharin; Monsanto eventually won, after several years in court.[53]

It was sued, along with Dow and other chemical companies by veterans for the side effects of its Agent Orange defoliant, used by the US military in the Vietnam War.[54]

Monsanto was the defendant in the longest civil jury trial in U.S. history, Kemner v. Monsanto. This case ran from February 1984 through October 1987. The case involved a group of plaintiffs who claimed to have been poisoned by dioxin in a 1979 chemical spill that occurred in Sturgeon, Missouri.[55]

In 2000, GLC sued Monsanto for the $71 million shortfall in expected sales.

In 2004, the world's largest agrichemical company, Switzerland's Syngenta, launched a US lawsuit charging Monsanto with using coercive tactics to monopolize markets.[56] There are several lawsuits going both ways between Monsanto and Syngenta.

In 2005, the US DOJ filed a Deferred Prosecution Agreement[57] in which Monsanto admitted to violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (15 U.S.C. § 78dd-1) and making false entries into its books and records (15 U.S.C § 78m(b)(2) & (5)).

In late 2006, the Correctional Tribunal of Carcassone, France, ordered two directors of Monsanto subsidiary Asgrow to pay a €15,000 fine related to their knowledge of the presence of unauthorized GMOs in bags of seeds imported by Asgrow on 13 April 2000.[58]

Tue 30 Nov 2010 Monsanto GMO sugarbeets are to be destroyed. A federal judge ordered the destruction of plantings of genetically modified sugar beets developed by Monsanto Co after ruling previously the U.S. Agriculture Department illegally approved the biotech crop.[59]

And more...

Some time ago, a friend told me that if you look a dog in the eyes, they will see that as a challenge and attack you, even if they are the most friendly dog you know. Being the very impressionable young lad that I was 5 years ago, I have since avoided doing so. Then I wondered today, is this true? I'm not willing to test it out. :p

Animals in general regard eye contact as a challenge and a threat. But no, it's not true that even the most friendly dog in the world would attack you if you did it. My dog would never attack me or one of my friends or family for looking in her eyes. ;)

I think as long as the dog knows who the master is, there shouldn't be any incidents.

:agree:

I look my dog in the eyes a lot... during "fights" to show dominance and otherwise... just because... nothing happens when I do it.

It's generally not true with nice dogs, or dogs you know well, but my dumb one will bark if strangers look him in the eyes. More aggressive ones might indeed attack.

If a pothole in a text is followed by a punctuation mark, should the mark be a part of the pothole or not?

Definitely afterwards, though I would consider omitting non-breaking punctuation as Joe said.

Might as well pose it here and see if anyone knows.

For some reason, though the rest of my computer and internet is fast, some parts are slow.

Chatrooms, forums, e-mail, and anything that requires input, run slowly on my internet. Everyone else doesn't have this issue.

Any ideas what might cause this? I repeat, everything but things that require input run fast. I can view links and whatnot in a matter of seconds, but posting to CFC or another forum takes at least 30 seconds, or posting in a chatroom takes a minute, etc. With regards to forums, it especially sucks, as I have to cancel the post half-way through to avoid a double post.

I've run Malwarebytes, too, and it doesn't pick up anything.
