Who here doesn't have a life outside of video games like me :D?

There's a video game like you?

Well no. I don't have a life outside the Elite video game.

I dunno, I'm torn between thinking whether it is Dark Souls or Hello Kitty Online. :D

Maybe something with rockin' MIDI music! Actually, I bet it is Crescent Hawks Inception! wootwoot

Question:
I'm writing an email to a department head asking for a reccomendation for an advisor as I don't know most of the professors in the Foreign Affairs or Economics department all that well. When I begin the email, should I write "Dear Dr. ________" or something else?
Any comments or advice relating to this would be helpful.

"Dear" and "sincerely" are getting antiquated but still the go-to default for formal communication.

Then it should be Dear Dr____ and end Yours sincerely.

More formal and impersonal still is Dear Sir, and end Yours faithfully.

I can't see that structuring an e-mail like a formal letter is going to offend anyone.

What fever temp warrants an immediate doctor visit? I was 100.7 F when I went to bed and now I'm 101.3 F.

My nose isn't running and I only have a slight cough but I feel like I've been hit by a freight train. I feel so bad right now.

Go to the doctor if you can Mr. Hobbs. Rule out anything catastrophic. I've always figured once a temp is bouncing around 102 degrees you aren't "playin" with being sick anymore.

I thought 105 was the life threatening stage.

Sounds like Mr Hobbs has flu and should go to bed and feel miserable for a couple of days.

But you never know, it could be meningitis, which does need treatment.

Ok I will. Thank god for student health clinics...i can't afford a regular doctor or ER

Probably the flu. I had pneumonia once when I thought I had the flu, it wasn't fun.

Yea, I wouldn't go to the ER with a fever either. Those clinics, where they still exist, are a godsend.

See, I've made my will. I just go home and into bed. And wait to see if I'm still alive after a week.

This technique has worked really well so far.
