Are Third Space Theory and Third place talking about the same thing?

Wikipedia says they are "Not to be confused", but Third Space Theory is talking about a place in our heads or society that is actualised in the built environment, helps people come together and is important to our personal and cultural development. A Third place is somewhere in our built environment that helps people come together and is important to our personal and cultural development.

The bit that makes it seems obvious to me is this description of the wider use of Third Space Theory:

In discourse of dissent, the Third Space has come to have two interpretations:
  • that space where the oppressed plot their liberation: the whispering corners of the tavern or the bazaar
  • that space where oppressed and oppressor are able to come together, free (maybe only momentarily) of oppression itself, embodied in their particularity.
These are both talking about that classic third space the pub, right?
