Remember that old personality test? I retook it, thought I'd share it.

Here's a free test inspired by the Myers-Briggs personality theories. www.personalitytest.net

I got I(introverted)N(intuitive)F(feeling)J(judging)

Strong drive and enjoyment to help others. Complex personality. 1% of the total population. These are serious students and workers who really want to contribute. They are private and easily hurt. They make good spouses, but tend to be physically reserved. People often think they are psychic. They make good therapists, general practitioners, ministers, and so on.

IIRC, I am also INFJ, with proportions something like 90%/20%/20%/50%.

ISTJ. Introverted, sensational, thinking, and judging.

These are dependable pillars of strength. They often try to reform their mates and other people. They make good bank examiners, auditors, accountants, and phys. ed. teachers, and boy or girl scouts! 6% of the total population.

This lists represent careers and jobs people of your type tend to enjoy doing. The job requirements are similar to the personality tendencies of your personality type. It is important to remember that this is not a list of all the jobs possible. And it is very important to remember that people can, and frequently do, fill jobs that are dissimilar to their personality... this happens all the time...and sometimes works out quite well.

management
accounting

engineer

I'm basically in the Dilbert category. :crazyeye:

The first time I took it I got ENFP.

Your Personality type is ENTP

Enthusiastic interest in everything and always sensitive to possibilities. Non-conformist and innovative. 5% of the total population.

It's funny, I took this test (the full test) about four years ago and got INFP (I think). I guess I've changed my outlook a bit. Almost perfectly balanced between thinking and feeling. :)

I used to be quite the pessimist but have found that (as the article points out) being optimistic generally served me better. :)

Was it me or did you feel with a large number of those questions that either answer was fine and with at least 25% it would have to depend on my current situation. For example when it said are you more worried planning things that are happening now or in the future. Now in general I'm probably about 50/50 maybe hedging towards 60/40 in favour of planning ahead, but because I have an assessment due at the moment I put more worried about things happening now although on reflection I would have changed it. I could honestly say that being a very flexible person naturally that that tests results would change every month or so. And sometimes fairly radically.

Anyway these tests are kinda fun if not very insightful, measuring the human psyche with tests is about as accurate as measuring height with a silly spring, In the US I think you call them slinkys. Actually measuring anything about non physical about human beings i.e. personality/intelligence/most likely career or whatever is fraught with innacuracy as I'm sure psychologists would tell you. I think I need more coffee or maybe less I'm not sure?:)

Yep, when I was a lad of fourteen I was pretty darn negative and cynical. In fact, this was my favorite poem at that time :

Somebody said that it couldn't be done--
But he, with a grin, replied,
He'd never be one to say it couldn't be done--
Leastways, not 'til he'd tried.
So he buckled right in, with a trace of a grin,
By golly, he went right to it!
He tackled The Thing That Couldn't Be Done!
And he couldn't do it.
heh heh

Cool, I was almost that. But when forced to choose between reason and emotion I went with reason cause I figure emotion is just a tool of reason (not in a bad way, actually it's an excellent motavator, kind of like sex or being sleepy). :)
