The NESer Neptune's Pride Thread!

@thomas, I've got your back. Need money next time? If there's somewhere I could send ships let me know.

thanks, daft! but I'm OK, for now, I think. I'm redirecting fleets. I'm just worried about timing. I've lost one star, but managed to defend the other. He has a medium sized fleet coming in, but i've got other ships heading that way. Two front wars suck, but at least it's not more.

U jelly?

I'd be willing to trade scanning 3 for weapons 3. - Nevermind - Hyperspace 3 for weapons 3. I will have hyperspace 3 today.

I got hyperspace from another deal and am researching scanning for myself. What else do you have to offer?

I just want to say I might be too nice for my own good. The evil thing to do is to roll up Shadowbound and iSpartan in one fell gulp, and continue feeding northward inexorably using my massive industrial base to fund galactic thermonuclear war.

Instead, I somehow made peace with all my neighbors with an Industry-heavy start, and no NPCs to pick fights with. >.>

Yeah, you're so much better off if you have your back to someone. Look how quickly iSpartan collapsed.

Agreed. The best thing he could have done is purchased Weapons 3 and launched deep raids. His conduct in the war was just sad.

BTW, I want to give you props once more for Weapons 3, and for taking the blunt off their Megafleet. Their sacrifice shall not be forgotten!

Hoookay. Scary gambit. I've got two enemy fleets coming at me, neither of which I can beat. So, I'm abandoning a couple of my stars in the hopes that I can jump beyond them and take out the enemy capital... I'm leaving myself open, but will be able to take two of their biggest production centers.

The Imperial Fleet is en route to support thomas.berbeg. The northern outpost of NESing will not fall so easily! In fact, I think if we combine our efforts, we can destroy the Orange members of the Guild.

Meanwhile, I'm probably dead. It's been a pleasure.

Never give up!! Do what Yellow Square did, and mass your remaining ships to make it cost-ineffective to take your homeworlds. Then you can bounce back once the NESer alliance is crystallised across the north of the galaxy.

Current NESer map. Northern and Eastern Blocks are now close enough to be considered the Northeastern Block.

So, as I am now boxed in on all sides by allies, I guess I have little left other than to bulk up my best stars for the inevitable betrayal by the Guild.

I'm purple circle. Over the next few days I'm launching a ~380 ship expedition to completely cripple Orange Circle. Thomas (ORange Diamond) can get his fair share, but I plan to capture a rich system and build a warpgate thingy to bring in reinforcements. *hopefully* I don't get bogged down on other fronts, it all depends what Yellow Square decided to do, as I messaged him and gave him opportunity to push back against Teal Diamond.

Long term then, two players worry me: Red Hex (tunafishsalad) and Green Triangle.

If we're willing to work together, I believe NESer hegemony in the north is achievable! :)

The two are nominally allied, but there have been some tensions so they may not present a unified front. Tuna and I are carving up Shadows' former territory right now. Additionally, tuna mentioned that he does have other friends in game, so he may have support.

How many NESers are still alive out of the initial coalition and are all of you working together at this point, or planning on getting rid of most of the competition and going into the tense standoff mode?

I think we're all still alive and cooperating. I'm pretty screwed, however, so if I do survive to the tense standoff phase I'll be either the first to die or the guy who quietly survives to the end simply by waiting.
