I saw a few episodes when my wife was watching, but as many other shows I feel the whole idea annoying. In every single soap or reality show the only people present are the beautiful and rich white people. And it is really starting to get to me. So no, I am no longer watching O.C. because it is just another one in a long row that glorifies the downright bastards that it's about.
It annoys me mainly because it's too popular these days (I watched the first episode's original airing and was into it for a while... until I noticed that idiots were watching it and it was devoid of any meaning what so ever) and it kinda lampoons the county I'd lived in for 10 of my 16 years.
Alrin, it does take place in an insanely rich area, that's why eveyone is rich. In response to what most people are saying about the show, it isn't very realistic but its entertaining to watch and it is a lot funnier than most other sitcoms or shows. Though i thought the finale to end this season wasn't that good.
Does a good tv programme HAVE to be realistic for it to be good? I know it helps if you can identify with the characters, but isn't the point of tv to be an escape from reality? Maybe it's just me, but I watch tv cos reality is boring, so I don't wanna see cold harsh reality on tv...
