The "OMG! Look what happened in DoC!" Thread

I always thought 0% meant it was less then 1%, like .5% or something.

Well that is the case most of the time, but in this situation 0% really means 0%

Mughal conquerors. How did they get there?

And why is that mountain east of Qusqu producing two food and a hammer?

I got it from a Mughal map. My guess is it was somehow left over from the Incas. I get all the time where Mali's one commerce or Inca's two food and one hammer are left on the map. In one game, I WBed a great spy into one of the cities and found that those bonuses did not actually exist, kind of like when a ship blockades yet you can still see the 1-2 food and 1-2 commerce.
Also, truffles don't happen on mountains.

Now that I have reloaded the save, the 2 food 1 hammer is gone.

Why are there so many nationalities on this tile? I first noticed this when my vassal Italy captured Athens and when moved my mouse over the Egyptian marble. That must be the most ethnically mixed tile I have ever seen

I've been able to recreate this situation twice, once with mandate armies and once with South Asian conquerors. Apparently units popping out of nowhere does that, as I am guessing that tile was previously taken from Greece with a mandate army.

Lisbon was later captured and Spain capitulated

If Frankfurt captured by France will be better,by the way, were your Russia at war with France?

Eh, they can get their wine from Europe, critics won't like it though.

To be honest, those Punjabi Workers chopping forests near Rome are much more OMG than an event popping up for the right civilization ;)

Sometimes I feel Varietas Delectat should be renamed Varietas Confusio. :crazyeye:

Leoreth, if you're reading this, this is just one more reason to separate VD from ECS.

Frozen Animations?
In Civ IV in general, graphics mod for units only come into effect when you click on the unit to make it active. When the unit is not active (i.e. not selected) they will have the graphics of some default BTS unit.

That's why in Varietas Delectat, East Asian (e.g. Chinese, Korean) Heavy Swordsmen will look like Samurai when not selected. European (e.g. French) workers will look like Fast Workers when not selected.

Similarly, in RFCE, the Spanish Tercio will look like 2 Redcoats plus 1 Pikeman when not selected.

Because of that, and because I always use Quick Combat, Unit Art mods are irrelevant for me.

Blame Rome or Khmer. Rome doesn't care about religion. Khmer sometimes does the spread our religion far and wide. More likely that since Spain actually converted.
