I am neither an AI nor America, actually. I'm China in the Polish conquerors pic, and the Mongol conquerors are a different game as Congo. The American start of the final two pics is a different game, where I did a 3000BC America start.

And here's the Turks not just conquering Wien, but continuing on and carving an empire out of German lands. The Germans eventually capitulated to them, and they held those lands until the Prussian spawn.

You could try playing on Emperor. Huts never give techs on Emperor - they are more likely to give Barbs instead.

Emperor/Epic is about as hard as Monarch/Normal, but more historically realistic IMO.
