The "OMG! Look what happened in DoC!" Thread

I'm guessing you're Japan, since I've never seen the AI take China. And the US's city placement it just awful.

Th fact he settled the West Coast of the US and further inland would be a better indicator

A couple of full displacements, though these should be a bit more uncommon than Tibet in Kolkata and Morocco or Poland in the Caucasus.
First, a blue Ethiopia.

I may have had a bit to do with it though

Best argument I can come up with for getting money for foreign ships passing through your cities.

And my most recent Dutch start:

And ahead of everyone in tech.

I'll take that one. And Frankfurt and Hamburg are lightly enough defended to burn within 15 turns.

That Indonesia one is pretty funny! Somewhere along the list you flipped from describing the picture above the link to below the link; it got confusing.

I hit the button as fast as I could, but didn't quite catch the most unique moment in DOC history, for me anyways. Here's the direct aftermath.

I was referring to the amphibious invasion of Italy by Independants

Omg it was so epic that it crashed my computer, and I've had to load an autosave previous to it. It's like it never happened

Well I rarely see amphibious attacks, let alone indies

Me neither, quite unique indeed.

In normal BtS the AI is completely unable to conduct amphibious invasions on cities on their continent. Is that galleon coming from Africa?

A few turns earlier Moors collapsed at war with me. I figure the troops were already loaded and on their way.

I'm glad someine else thinks its cool. I practically pooped myself when it happened and jammed my finger down on the printscreen button, but only caught the diplo screen from someone offering me a trade. I wanted to get the shot of the troops unloading

Silly Carthage, wrong side of the Alps!

I've seen Cartage settling central Europe a lot recently, wonder what got into them.

Well, with 5 early game resources in its BFC, I don't blame them.

On a 3000 BC English start I discovered India was unusually strong, controlling the entire subcontinent, Pagan, Samarkand, and eastern Persia. What I didn't realise until I contacted them, was that they has also vassalised Tibet, Khmer, and the Shri Lankan remnant of the Tamils. By then two cities had declared independence, so this isn't the best shot of their empire, but I drew in borders to show how huge they are:

I don't know if it shows up here, but for me for some odd reason, most workers look like they're just running in place.

With no Germany, the Big Blue Blob shows its ugly face again.

If you can get control of Italy, you can run away with the game. Rome is a ridiculously good production site.
