Multicultural western North America... Also, Washington deserves applause for Grand Junction; that city is impressively bad.
Turkish Finland (as well as all of eastern Europe). Also, Gustav showing a lot of love to Lapland.
The Germans got booted out of Europe pretty soon after spawning and were left with only the Yucatan peninsula, but as Russia's vassal they have done pretty well and haven't collapsed yet 130 years later, building a minor colonial empire from their new home.

Yeah last pic is Not so much a OMG moment...it's more a OMFGWTF HELP! Pic.
Also impressive to see a AI naval invasion. Reminded me of earlier versions of Empire: Total War. as a rule, Britain could not ever be invaded until they had the AI fixed sometime later. It wasn't that it was impossible...just more that the AI couldn't figure out how to do it.
I also remember that there was a issue with Hearts of Iron 3 related to getting the AI to invade islands more.
They fixed that. Course...successfully landing forces in Britain and actually conquering the islands were two different stories all together.
I none the less first game ended up having to kick...Italy, who had managed to occupy literally 2/3 of the island, out of Britian of all things. Italy, for gods sake. Guess I shouldn't have focused on Japan so much.
Normandy...not so great. That failed. Badly.

I recommend spawning in a large force of your own forces. that way, you don't lose the XP of kicking it's ass.
Damn. I still remember playing as Reg Rhye as Germany. As a rule, I would build a titanic force of hundreds of units if I could...and then I got assemlby line and industrialism.

It was hard to lose a war if you did that simply because you would have such a large force of what would likely be the most advanced and strongest unit anyone had at the time which probably outnumbered 40% of all other nations combined...especially if you had been making sure you been expanding so as to get the places you needed.

Looks to me like Shush is the Christian holy city and Parsa is the Zoroastrianism holy city. Taosim is in Jerusalem and it is likely that the independents founded it because the Chinese hadn't by whatever date they are supposed to have done so.

K, so we a have a super Spain, Ottoman, a Super HRE at war with the ottoman. No France.
Moors and Portugal spanish vassals. Arab and Indonesia Turkish vassals.
BUT WHAT, Theres more. Super Sweden.
Big Congo. and a respectable sized arabia.
more spain and a very intact Inca. English conquers...meh.
No france means emptiness in the americas in general.
FUBAR. A large mongolia. Also, why Korea in Siberia...just noticed that.
oh, and HRE has rifles...
EDIT: i just ended my first turn. China is now the Vassal of Spain.
EDIT: and the congo too..
EDIT: and arabia is now free and has mali and eithopia as vassals.
