The "OMG! Look what happened in DoC!" Thread

Viking India happens once a blue moon and that's why they should be able to get the Trading Company corporation, well that and both Sweden and Denmark in real life had trading companies and colonies

They can't? I didn't even know it was limited to certain civs  Shows I play too little in later erasI guess... so only colonial Euros can get it or what? The TC corp?

The Trading Company corporation only spreads to Spanish, Portuguese, French, Dutch and English cities that are not in Europe, other than the city containing the Trading Company national wonder (which will always have the corporation as well), and only after the civilization has completed the Trading Company national wonder (which is auto-built on discovery of the appropriate technology for the AI, but the human player must build it manually). In addition, those five civilizations get a special Trading Company event when they build the Trading Company national wonder, allowing them to purchase or conquer some city/cities in Asia (which one(s) depends on the civ).

However, anyone can build the Trading Company national wonder to get the health and happiness bonuses and the extra trade routes.

Islam was founded by Persia on the turn I've spawned. This created an interesting situation with Makkah without Islam.

I don't know if this is common, but Tibet somehow managed to be the first to circumnavigate the globe (I had nothing to do with it).

I have just loaded a new USA start and found an Aztec Philadelphia and Fort Zeelandia, 2 Chan Chans, Thais Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Chengdu, and 2 Dutch cities in the Austraian dessert

Words don't carry as much weight as pictures in this thread.

Also, 2 Chan Chans and Thai southern China is common at this point.

I don't know how to take screenshots, my keyboard is very weird

There should be a key near the "F" keys at the top of your keyboard called "Prt Sc".
Press it in-game and the screenshots appear in the Screenshots folder of your BtS folder.

I'll add here that on some keyboards (like mine), you need to press shift-Print Screen for it to work, even if print screen is the only thing that button's used for.

Good old Dutch start ...

Throw that one away.

Leoreth, I am fairly sure France is this strong due to settling Brest instead of Cherbourg, the first of which gets more food and does not choke Paris. I think Rennes (1E) would be an in between. Perhaps the French settler map should be altered to make Cherbourg less likely and either one of these the most common city, like Santiago for Spain.
